- Put fake spiders in jelly: “I’m going to put fake spiders in the jelly and see if I can fool the kids into thinking they are real.” @Amydoyl387 (Editor’s note: Just make sure the plastic is food-safe.)
- Hide them in the hand soap: “We love the spiders in the liquid hand soap! A funny way to start Halloween #MAOAMmischief I will be recreating some of our favourite tricks and treats with @Matilda_Sparkle
- Place one in their hair: We’ve all probably gotten a live bug in our hair at some time or another. Say “There’s something in your hair, is it a leaf?” will have them reaching up, feeling it and jumping…before plotting to put one in yours too!

- Place spiders in the bed: Put a spider on their pillow, down where their feet will touch it or even on their skin. Catches out kids and parents! “Me and my son out a pretend spider in my husband’s side of the bed we had a huge giggle when he let a roar out of him thinking it was real.” @KathrynLauren_0
- Hide spiders in their lunchboxes – or they can hide them in yours: “My kids love hiding little plastic spiders to scare their dad, including in his lunchbox. I often get a text from him at lunch from work telling me how the kids got him again and made him jump LOL!” @Tantrums2Smiles
- Hang them on or above doors: “We love scaring my husband, his office is in the garden so we sneaked down and put a giant spider on his door. I love my girls’ faces when he was too scared to come out the office.” @Loopy6000
- I’m going to empty the cereal box and fill it with fake spiders. @MissieLizzieB
- Put them on door handles: Big scary spiders with wee fluffy bodies catch out @YellowPinkVibe’s children.

- Toss them into the bath: Looking forward to scaring the kids with the regular fake spider in the bath fun. @Relaxosaurus
- Hang a spider from the toilet seat: “So every time you lift the seat, it pops up!” 🕷️ @SophieTrufShuf
- Put them…everywhere: “We have lots of plastic spiders left over from our Spider-man party, so we have been hiding them in unusual places around the house to cause a fright.” 🤣 🕷 @BellaRose_55_
