12 Halloween ideas to spook up your lunch box

Unless you are hiding yourself away from civilisation or you’re on some extended cruise around the globe, you can’t fail to notice all the Halloween goodies available in every aisle at your local supermarket. First it’s the pumpkins that greet you as you first enter the store. Then at the end of each aisle there’s something that makes little people beg “Oh Mummy! Please! Oh please buy this!”

In the run up to Halloween I thought I’d share at least 12 Halloween food ideas to spook up your lunch box ready for Halloween!  It’s been a really tough challenge trying to round up Britmums blogs that talk Halloween but have the food ideas! You need to share your posts with me!

Spider-themed food

These spider cupcakes are easy to make from Kate on Thin Ice, and because they are in their own case, are very easy to transport in a lunch box.

Black widow spider chocolate cupcakes from the Madhouse Family

I absolutely love this idea – Spooky Halloween jelly – it’s the worms and creepy crawlies that make these extra special!

Life at the Zoo has come up with her round-up of sweet treats for Halloween!

Monsters in a mug from Princess and the Pickle

Then there’s the ghosts… Quick and easy ghostly cakes

Pumpkin soup is always that heart-warming soup we think of at this time of year, both because it’s pumpkin and it’s orange. Pop it in a thermal flask for school or the office.

Dead fingers or witches fingers

I will definitely be making some dead man’s fingers for the lunch boxes. That’ll really surprise the kids, enough to make the kids jump I am sure!

I might even pop in the odd plastic spider too! Would love to be a spider on the wall for that!

Witches fingers breadsticks

Or how about these scary devilled eye balls

But my absolutely favourite Halloween food idea for a lunch box is this one:

Halloween Mummies
