New School Year
I think that September feels like the start of a new year, more so for me than even January does and I know many other parents feel the same. Stevie at A Cornish Mum has been reflecting on her youngest child finishing primary school and thinking ahead to all the milestones still to come. I have to say there are some of those I’m not looking forward to – first girlfriend for my son or both my girls hitting puberty!
Getting Fitter
It was lovely to see the stunning photos of Kirsty and Clara at My Two Mums at a recent wedding. Both women are on a mission to get fit and live longer and this post sums up how they have gone further than ever before by following Slimming World and changes their lifestyles. Rock on ladies, you are super inspiring.
I am absolutely loving following the weight loss and fitness journey of Kate at Wit Wit Woo. She is now over 80 weeks into her journey and four stone down and I just love her attitude. Some weeks she loses, some she doesn’t but she isn’t letting it phase her. She knows she has done well and you can see the difference and soon I’ll follow in her footsteps.
Being Positive
Becky at Cuddle Fairy has written a really positive post about finding and developing your inner voice. We all know how damaging it can be when we put ourselves down and she gives some great advice on how to build yourself up.
Happiness is a journey and not a destination is the title of the next post I want to recommend from Momma Mack. She talks about having joined in with the 100 happy days challenge and how this helped her.
“Does this mean that I was ecstatically happy every day for 100 days? Absolutely not, like everybody, I had good days and bad days along the journey, but on those bad days I was able to come out of the low feelings quicker than I had before, and tried really hard to still find a positive thing that had happened that day.”
I really enjoyed this short and sweet post from Esther at Inside, Out and About. She talks about how life has got a bit serious and she’d been feeling melancholy but then her little people with their smiles, their love for her and their belief that she can do anything had helped her to feel more like herself again.
Finding your Strength
This is a really powerful piece of writing from Emma at Our Fairytale Adventure that seems to be resonating and inspiring many women. Emma shares a part of her story of being a domestic abuse survivor and how because of her ex she has become stronger and determined to change the future for her family.
Happy Bloggerversary
Kate on Thin ice is celebrating her 10 year blogging anniversary and it was good to read how things have changed for her over the years and to hear that she has finally found her niche. Nine years in and I’m still looking!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s picks. The Positively Inspirational round-up will be back the first Saturday of October with Lizzie Somerset. Tweet her if you have anything suitable for inclusion – @lizzie_roles
Have a great September, let’s hope the sun shines for us! Mich x
About Michelle Pannell
Mummy from the Heart is the fourth baby of Michelle, a 46 year old (manic) mother living in East Sussex. Having moved to the countryside and ‘retired’, Michelle can now be found eating too much cake and taking long walks. She lives life on the bright side and looks for the joy in every situation, even the excess pounds those cakes keep adding! Michelle’s blog is a very honest place where she shares tales of imperfect parenting, being a Christian digital activist and anything else that takes her fancy.
Thanks so much for including my inner voice post in your round up! x
