Party Inspiration Round-up: Tea parties, ponies & tempting treats

It’s time for the party inspiration round up again and I’m just so happy – the weather is perking up and encouraging more and more of us to step outside and enjoy outdoor celebrations!  We were at the Royal Horticultural Spring Festival this weekend and it felt like the midst of Summer!  I’m looking forward to warm, balmy evenings so that we can enjoy dining in the garden again with the boys.

Tea party season appears to have officially began in the Keep Up With The Jones Family house this month – my boys were treated to some really delicious treats and spent a weekend in Hereford with me and their grandparents being generally spoiled – able to run free over an enormous garden, through bundles of vibrant yellow and orange daffodils, and enjoy lawn games – their favourite being giant Jenga; tennis with a 2, 4 and 6 year old is quite exhausting!
I’ve been blown away with excitement over the posts I’ve received this month – and being a Hampshire girl I’m starting with a very familiar party theme – over at Casa Costello to have a peep, where they have been baking the sweetest cupcakes that are so adorable I think I would have some difficulty eating them!  Cupcakes at parties are a wonderful alternative [or addition to] the big birthday cake, and there are so many twists and little touches that you can incorporate, too.
On the topic of what to serve at parties, The Crumby Mummy has perfected the art of themed Princess party food.  We fell in love with the [Unpoisoned] Snow White party food – how about you?
Since our second “interesting” birthday cake when our oldest was just 2, we decided to hire a professional cake maker each year.  I’d like to say it was primarily to alleviate the stress of party preparation, but in reality we all know it’s because creating your little one’s crumb and buttercream filled vision ca be tricky.  Over at the Brick Castle, you can find the most amazing tutorial on making a Lego spaceman cake.  The step by step instructions are so precise that I’m feeling quite enthused to try again!
We can’t think of a better party than one where you learn whilst you’re having fun – Chelsea Mamma’s explosive science themed party complete with slime AND rainbows ticks every box in our house – take a look at what else was involved; it’s pretty hair raising!
Our final foray into party land this month is with Capture by Lucy.  As a mom of boys, like Lucy, I doubt that I will ever have the chance to throw a pink and pretty birthday tea – but this time lucky Lucy had the chance to throw what is undoubtedly the sweetest little birthday party for her adorable little niece.  My favourites are the cake pops!
I’m looking forward to reading more of your celebration posts – don’t forget to tweet or email me!
