My Best Post of the Week #MBPW

My Best Post of the Week #MBPW

Thumbs upI have had a glass of Shiraz Grenache 2008 – Australian if you’re wondering. Actually that’s a lie, I may have had two and it’s 14.5% so be warned as I’m preparing this post in advance. The wine is delicious and it’s warming me but that is not what this post is about even if I am listening to The Stranglers ‘No More Heros’ which I haven’t heard for ages.

Do you find things can distract you?

I do constantly.

Did you notice I have a new thumbs up photo?

I have good days where I am focused and can whizz off posts like there’s no tomorrow and others where it takes an age to get a post completed and my one tip for moments like those is throw the idea down in a draft and walk away, because when you come back later you’ll a) recognise it was rubbish and hit the delete button OR b) you’ll be refreshed and work on it to produce something beautiful that you are proud of and that’s what #MBPW is all about.

In fact even the rubbish that gets thrown in the bin can often spark the idea of a future great post. So never think “I can’t do this’ ‘I’ve lost my mojo’ or other put-me-down ideas. Let your feelings flow and see where they take you.

This week BritMums has celebrated community spirit we’ve had an entire week of sharing; the links stay open for a month so don’t feel you’ve missed out, check out the posts and add your URL’s to our Back to Blogging fest. The whole concept of the week was of community. We’re all in this crazy world and trying to make the best of a bad worldwide economy, trying to round up incomes. Times will change but we have to move with them so why not share our social media? Gain likers, followers, pinners and circle’ers and move on as a group.

It’s been a hugely successful week and we thank everyone for taking part and joining in, we hope you gain from it but our big news is our..

Coffee Break Google+ hangouts

Now if you’re like me ‘new-fangled ideas’ scare me. (I’ve been fine till now why bother with new stuff?) But this is the world of social media and you’ve got to keep your finger on the pulse. You have to move with the times and push yourself to learn. This week is Social Media Week in London, the word on the street will be Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, blogs and Google + use our Back to Blogging and bring yourself bang up to date.

But I am side tracking – it’s good wine! We were talking Google hangouts and I was inviting you to join us on Wednesday morning at 10.15am for 10 minutes of chat.

After the huge success of our Google hangouts at Brit Mums Live in the Spring we’ve been thinking and Jen came up with Coffee Breaks, after all you don’t want to be tied to the laptop chatting for ages, but 10 minutes on a topical question could work? So come on Wednesday morning at 10.15 this week and we’ll be chatting with Maggy Woodley from Red Ted Art about social media and Penny Alexander from Alexander Residence. You can watch and you can join in by messaging and commenting too.

Now it’s time to choose your best post of the week, which one are you particularly proud of? Add it to the Linky below and visit another couple if you can. Wishing you all a great week and an increase in readers after our Back to Blogging week

I love that you see not blogging as wasting time. I am the complete opposite! I can blog all the time, but I have to stop 'wasting time' on that and do something useful - like housework! Back to blogging is a fab idea.
