thumbs up

Thumbs up for the weekend and it’s an extra long one with the added Bank Holiday Monday this week – yoohoo, let’s just hope the weather plays ball.

Just a note – this time next week we’ll be officially in September, where did all that time go?

All parents are on countdown for the Back to School, who still hasn’t sorted out labels for uniform, or bought school shoes? With such a huge checklist to get through it would be handy for a post on the subject – have you got one to add to the Linky below and help us all out?

My twins start reception this year and we have a dreadfully drawn out induction process which in my eyes is a bit Over The Top, it won’t be till October that they start going to school all day! Now I know they’re small but really, a month of induction? A whole week at home waiting for a 20 minute home visit? Sometimes I think our education curriculum is going backwards rather than forwards but maybe I’m old fashioned and convinced that children can stand the pace of going to school from the word go.

Who’s got plans for Bank Holiday? I have the family coming over and I’m going to do my Coronation Chicken recipe again as it can be prepared beforehand, it’s economical and already proven to be a winner. Do check out Emma’s Foodie round-up for last minute inspiration from our fabulous food bloggers.

Charity, Craft, Review and Thrifty round-ups went up this week – head over to Hot Blogs and add your posts to the various Linkys at the end of each post. Also we have a brand new Beauty round-up by the lovely Louise at Yummy Mummy Really? Have a look and be inspired for a bit of me time and pampering.

Also on the blog this week Talk about rape – an important debate don’t miss out add your voice too.

Time to choose your best and favourite post of the week. Did you rant? Did you visit somewhere really nice? Did a new recipe turn out just brilliantly? Let us know about it and add the link below, please try to visit at least two other posts to share a bit of comment love.

We're off to meet my son's teacher today as he starts Junior Kindergarten here in Canada next Tuesday - "excited" doesn't begin to cover it! I recently wrote about how a horoscope message and a desire to "give something back" came together with totally unexpected results... you can read about it here http://wp.me/p1J9Lk-1wi Good luck with Back-To-School everyone, I hope you all have a painless transition back into "the routine"!
