Houston we have lift off! Introducing the new @BritMums site!

It’s here! We’ve been working on a new, updated BritMums site for the past six months and today we’re unveiling it at last!

We can’t wait to hear what you think. It’s a huge leap forward with the social networking tools that allow you to get involved with your fellow parent bloggers, and it also helps you promote yourself and your blog easily and more effectively. (DON’T USE THE OLD SITE ON NING – nothing will get transferred over and we’ll be turning it off soon.)

First things first:

  • Go to BritMums.com and choose your new password (so everything’s nice and secure)
  • Then sign in with your email and your new password

You’re in!

Next, go to your Profile page – the link is in the top right-hand corner of the site – and input your blog description, your Twitter and Klout information. Now you’re ready to start using the site.

You can:

* Submit your blog to Blog Buzz, a rolling update of the latest posts from BritMums members. Your blog can be seen by the nearly 3,000 BritMums members on the site.

* Create your own personal Blog Buzz, featuring your favourite bloggers

* Browse all the great videos in a special upgraded video section

* Check out all the old groups you already belong to and join some great new ones

Take a look round and read our guide to Getting Started.

The site is definitely a work in progress – this is a “soft launch” and we expect there will be some technical blips along the way. (Jennifer has worked on launches from financial news sites to The Times online, and Susanna, well, she has 3 children so she knows something about chaos.)

We also have plans for plenty of upgrades in the coming months. Let us know about things you’d like to see at info@britmums.com.

If you have technical problems with logging in or pages not correctly, email us at support@britmums.com and we’ll see to it as soon as possible.

If you want to get in touch about other issues, thoughts, feedback, email us at info@britmums.com.

See you on the new BritMums!

PS — if you didn’t get the email or it didnt work, try resetting your password here.

Love it! Quick question - I signed up to Blog Buzz yesterday (or maybe the day before, can't remember!) and it isn't showing up? Once you sign up, does it automatically update with your latest posts? Thanks.

Many congratulations on the launch and it looks great. Really modern and go-getting. Well done to Susanna and Jen and all the members too who have contributed in so many diverse ways to the development of a powerful network that now has a site to match.
