How To’s: 4 ways to get summer ready

How To's Round-upRight who forgot to tell the wonderful British weather that Summer is fast approaching? You may be forgiven for thinking we are heading back into Autumn and I, for one, have had the heating on this month – I can’t say I’m happy about that one bit and I know I’m not alone.

So in a bit to help encourage the sun to put its hat on and come out of hiding here’s how our lovely bloggers are preparing for the much needed and long awaited heatwave (I do hope that’s not wishful thinking).

Getting body ready

Well if we are to get out our pins we need to spend a little TLC on getting them summer ready, mine haven’t seen daylight outside since perhaps last summer and are certainly bottle white and lacking moisturising (OK, they also may need a shave but shhhhhh don’t tell anyone).

Victoria shares her tips on preparing your skin for summer and Lucy shares a brilliant post on Hay Fever and her top tips for dealing with it – I am certainly taking note of those ready for another flare up.

Getting the garden ready

Anita shares how she has been getting the garden ready for the summer as does Sarah including my least favourite job of weeding,  Catherine shows us how to make a mud kitchen for the kids on a budget, Leta shares her post on how to create a garden perfect for entertaining in

Getting the house ready

Sarah tells us how to get the house ready for the party season – let’s face it we all love a good party, and of course, we may be off on our holidays this summer so I’ve shared my top tips on securing your house while you are away.

Summer wardrobe ready

Ditch the winter wardrobe and get prepping for the summer one, it’s all about layers not woolly jumpers now. Becky shares how to choose the correct sized sandals.

Hopefully that’s helped to get you all in the summer mood – please join me again when I’ll be sharing favourite How To’s on summer food and drinks – if you have a post you would like to see included please tweet me @emmys_mummy or drop me an email [email protected]
