If there’s one thing that we all have in common (apart from our little people) it’s got to be these. Our blogs! These living, breathing things that have become extensions of ourselves – steering and shaping the way we live, laugh and love. They are the very things that have brought us here, to BritMums. There’s no question they are our happy places. So here’s a nod to our blog successes, big and small. Because life wouldn’t be the same without them.
Happiness is trying something bloggy new
There’s a thing isn’t there, where we somehow get niched into a particular area? That’s not a bad thing, but sometimes it can stop us trying out something new, especially when we feel like we could be jumping on the toes of fellow bloggers who are already smashing it in that area. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained right? I tried something new, and actually, I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed writing a my first ever parody, Sharing A Shell. Bridget from Bridie By The Sea also got her rhyme on with a stunning poem Emma Turns Three, proving that us bloggers can be awesome at crossing writing styles, if we just give it a chance.
It’s about nurturing what we love
When you’ve found something that makes your heart skip a beat, do it! And keep going. Just like Dawn from Dear Mummy who’s been over on YouTube nurturing her new channel. We are big fans of Dear Mummy, and get quite swept away by how passionate the whole family are when they get their vlog on. If your happy place is in front of the camera, make sure you get out there!
It’s about knowing when to start a new beginning
When you get itchy feet and are not sure where you are going with your writing, take a breather. Perhaps you just need a little new beginning like Kirsty from Life With Boys. Because happiness is always a new look.
It’s about upping your blog game
We all blog about things that we are passionate about. Raising awareness about particular issues or events that have touched us comes with the territory. But how about writing a book about it too, you know, because we can! Sophie from Mama Mei has just signed a book deal (wow) and is embarking on her 10 month writing journey as we speak. Her book will be all about eating disorders and body image. Wishing you all the luck Sophie.
Writing like no one is watching
The thing that I have come to learn about blogging over the years, is that we do it because we love to write. We have stories to tell and things to shout about. Writing makes us happy and can change our lives for the better, as Gemma from Mummy’s Waisted so beautifully explains in a letter to her children – why mummy writes.
We love to blog
Happiness is blogging, for so many of us. It’s up there with the things we love to think about during the day, and dream about at night. It’s bloggy brilliant. And on that note, I’ll leave you with Victoria’s post from over at Lylia Rose which had me grinning from ear to ear – reasons why blogging is so brilliant. Enjoy!
Thanks you for joining us for the BritMums Happiness Round-up this month. Don’t forget to stop by and have a read, leave a comment or just say hello to these happy bloggers who bring all the smiles.
I love reading your happy posts and would welcome bloggers of all levels to share their posts for consideration for this round up. You are also more than welcome to stop by the Button blog for our #DreamTeam linky which runs every Tuesday.
