Happiness Round-up: Proud of you

There’s nothing like a little ones accomplishments, big or small, that sends us into a mad flurry of air whoop-whoops.

Giving every parent that beaming ear-to-ear, proud-as-punch grin that seems to last for days. I love it! We’ve had so many moments over the last couple of months like this where I have just sat back and stared at my little person in wonder. To an outsider I probably looked completely daft, but to me it makes perfect sense.

There’s been our 1st visit from the tooth fairy, amazing school reports and even a 1st ever creative writing story, that at 5 years old, left me quite speechless.

In this month’s Happiness Round-up we take a look at some of your proudest moments.

There are so many milestones aren’t there? All precious in their own special ways and for different reasons. But turning 1 years old like Soffy’s little girl from The Mum Affairs is a particularly special moment that I don’t think any of us will ever forget seeing our little ones through. It’s that proud moment where your baby is growing up, and I’m sure I’m not alone when I say it’s that time when you can breathe out and give yourself a pat on the back because you did it!

As you take that breath back in, before you know it 1 will turn to 2 years old, then 3 and pretty soon your reception age little one will be in year 1 and already turning the big 6 just like Laura’s gorgeous little Eva from Five Little Doves.

There is so much to look forward to but as Mighty Mama Bear reminds us, the lasts are just as important as the firsts.

By Myself

As they grow, so does their insatiable appetite for independence. It’s a very proud moment when you can sit back and watch your little one yell [I can do it] ‘by myself’ as Mrs Lighty from All Things Spliced has recently found with her toddler.

Independent Thinkers

Once all the ‘by myselfs’ have been accomplished, how about a bit independent thinking to make our hearts skip a beat (in a good way). Talya from Motherhood: the real deal had all the proud smiles for her daughter, who decided that she WAS going to be wearing trousers to school. A round of high fives please, because we are all about equality here. And when it’s a 5 year old making the decisions, that’s got to be a good thing.

So Proud Of You

I’ll leave you with Vicky’s post from The Mummy Bubble20 heart melting mama moments, a gorgeous read about the smallest of snippets that make us so proud of our little people.
