I am kind of glad it’s temporary too, as Kate is an incredibly hard act to follow, and boy is it difficult deciding which (out of thousands of genuinely) Good Reads to feature! But without further ado…
Last week saw a huge amount of beautiful Father’s Day tribute posts from the BritMums Blogosphere. All of them poignant and special in their own way, but Rachel at Manana Mama wrote my absolute favourite of the lot – Star Gazers. She has such a great way with words this lady.
Keeping in with the family theme is Hello It’s Gemma, with her gorgeous post about the importance of Family, both the ones you can’t choose and the honorary ones you can! How beautiful is that photograph as well? I do believe big (or should that be BIB) congratulations are in order too! Very well deserved Mrs!
SAHD and Proud managed to mess my mascara up with his very eloquent and moving post called The Grieving Process, in it he writes about gradually learning to adapt and accept major changes in his life, and how important the two little people in it are. Onwards and upwards indeed.
Melissa at Talk About York, is also saying goodbye, but this time it’s to an inanimate object. A trampoline. Except that when you read it, it’s not really just a post about a trampoline. It’s about the passing of time, and the inevitable moving on that comes with that – and it’s fabulous.
Chris at Thinly Spread actually wanted to say goodbye to something – her son (not for good, but on a school trip to Belgium), but forgot to do something quite important, in her very funny post My Latest Mum Fail… Did he make it in the end or didn’t he?
Anyway. Enough with the goodbyes. Do you have a nickname? Do you dare admit it to anyone, or has it accidentally been revealed? Sara (or should that be Moneypenny?!) at Notes from the Edge of Motherhood had me laughing my head off at her very funny post – What Your Nickname Says About You. And no I am not telling you mine…
Over in Russia at Potty Diaries, Potty Mummy writes brilliantly about Being Green, and how difficult it is, especially in that part of the world. Just exactly how many carrier bags would you like with your shopping madam?
The View From the Table gives us a fabulous piece of travel writing about a trip to Bolivia, and a pretty hair-raising road with her post “Quinoa and a Near Death Experience“. The only thing she doesn’t mention is how to pronounce Quinoa, something that’s always bothered me!
My Funny Mummy talks to us about the perils of the shopping trolley/precious baby combination in the very funny Trolley Dolly.
And last but not least, and on a much more serious note… It was Carer’s Week this past week. Over 6.4 Million People act as Carers in the UK alone, and Sheonad over at Touch and Tickle describes beautifully both the loss and rediscoverence of self in her beautiful post Me.

I have looked longingly at the Good Reads and fondled the html code the bloggers of Good Reads gone by have absent mindedly pasted on their over exposed blogs - and now it is MY TURN to be all nonchalant about being selected as a Good Read. Ooh - thank you so much for including me. Really pleased. I still can't read that post without crying. I never realised I felt so deeply about inanimate things until I blogged about it so three cheers for blogging - cheapest therapy there is.
