Foodie Round-up: May – BiB’s Short list!!

Foodie Round-up: May – BiB’s Short list!!

BiBbigLogo2014bSo that’s it – the short lists for this year’s BiB’s are now well and truly out in the ether!   At this point in time you have three days (yes, three days!!)  left to place your all important votes for those you wish to see in the finals if you haven’t already done so!…   Haven’t already done so, and want to learn a little more about those fabulous food bloggers before you vote?    Well here they are in alphabetical order! :-

A Mummy Too –    Emily is a Nottingham based lifestyle blogger, with a finger in many pies!   Not only will you find delicious family recipes a plenty on her blog (along with plenty of other subjects!) but her photography is always a pleasure to look at too!

The Cake Hunter – Possibly my favouritely named blog in the entirety of Blog Land!  A gorgeous blog all about babies, and the most wonderful cakes  – what more can you want?

The Crazy Kitchen – There are so many things to inspire the culinary minded over on Helen’s blog – from nourishing meals to great Paleo recipes, and the most brilliant kids cakes too!

Le Coin de Mel – A new blog on the block for me – but I am grateful for the Britmums intro!    Mel’s blog not only has a great food “corner” but the other three corners – kids, craft and home – are all good reads too!

Elizabeth’s Kitchen Diary –  In her own words, Elizabeth is “quite possibly Britain’s most Northerly Food Blogger” (she’s based in the Shetlands) and her blog is packed full of original recipes as well as “no waste food challenges and “shopping local” ideas!

Franglaise Cooking – written by a husband and wife team (one French, one English!) this couple really do know their shallots from their pickled onions, and their blog gives you a great selection of family recipes from their respective countries!

Gannet & Parrot –  Chloe inherited a passion for food and cooking from her parents, and this relationship between people and food is the undercurrent to many of her posts- I love the Heirloom Recipe series, and her great pictures!

Gourmet Mum – Filipa is not only a busy Mum of 2, but she’s also a part-time cookery teacher.  Where she also finds the time to write a blog packed full of healthy, easy and tasty recipes on a budget is beyond me!   Plenty of vlogs to be found here too!

I’m Counting UFOs – Steph is a one Foodie Mama!   Her blog is a visual feast of all types of recipes, and great ideas!  The Love your Leftovers is cracking series of posts, and she’s a bit of a 5:2 expert too!

Julie’s Family Kitchen – Lots of hearty family recipes to be found here – along with plenty of delicious looking cakes and bakes.  Julie claims to use her family as “taste guinea pigs” – I bet they aren’t complaining!

Mamacook – Do you have small children?   Looking for fresh new ideas on what to feed them?  Look no further!   Have no time to cook separately for the rest of the family and want something you can all eat together?  Look no further!

My Golden Pear – If my blog looked like this one I would be over the moon.    If I could cook like Angela too, I think Mr R would be over the moon!

Taming Twins – Sarah’s blog is just one big virtual hug – you cannot fail to be impressed by the awesomeness that is The Ultimate Snickers Layer Cake – or how about a Creme egg cupcake?  Lots of great savoury food stuffs to be found here as well!

Scottish Mum – Not only is Lesley a bit of a Social Media expert, but she also happens to be a pretty nifty cook!   Scottish Mum’s blog is bursting at the seams with good honest Family food!

Spade Fork Spoon – From the Allotment to the Kitchen and beyond!   A really original blog that focusses on growing, cooking and eating all that Mother Nature herself has to offer!

Super Golden Bakes – Another site for sore eyes, Lucy’s style of photography and presentation is stunning, and her recipes are interesting and appealing too!

So there you have it Ladies and Gents!  Now all you have to do is decide who gets your vote (might take you a while though, it’s a hard task!)… Remember, the last day is the 16th May!

Help your favourites – vote for them now!

Next month’s Round up will be a bit of a pot luck with a good dose of those all important finalists. Add your favourite recipes to the list below

About Emma Raphael

Emma Raphael left the UK for Copenhagen in 2009, with her ever-patient husband and two small children. Having enjoyed a couple of years in Scandinavia, Emma and her family found they enjoyed Expat life so much that they now reside in Munich – where the pace of life is relaxed, her language skills are small, and the mountains and bier halls are very large. Being one half of a self-proclaimed foodie couple, Emma enjoys the new produce and restaurants in each new country she resides in, and has made it her mission to convince people that English food no longer deserves the bad rap it once had. She can be found in the kitchen when she’s feeling homesick, trying to recreate comfort food from home. She also has huge passions for travel, photography, art, wine, gardening (although according to her Bavarian neighbours, she’s not much good at that!) and her family (of course)!
