Fitness Round-up: Summer fitness plans

The long summer holiday has only just started and many of you will struggle to stick to your fitness routines thanks to lack of childcare.

I will be on a beach holiday in Turkey when you will be reading this, and have packed my running trainers as every time we go on holiday, and will be making sure I stay well hydrated!

Running along the beach is one of best workouts, and easily done while one of the parents is looking after the kiddies! This year I expect some super hot temperatures on our holiday, so will be making sure that my run is done before the heat gets unbearable.

How do you keep fit during school holiday?

Make sure you involve your children too. My girls love cycling and Olivia has mastered cycling without stabilisers and is very keen on family bike trips along the local canal more and more. I am also planning a treasure hunt in the nearby woods. So much to look forward to. Just keep on moving.

Skipping competition with the whole family is just another way how to keep your fitness levels up. The last time I was easily beaten by my 10-year-old and despite all my fitness activities I realised that I need to practise more and that is going to be my summer challenge!

For this month fitness round-up I would like to start with a post by Notes from Jessie about her purpose for running. We all run for different reasons, and I love hearing or reading about why other people run. What’s yours?

I have been always fascinated by people who decide to take part in triathlons, and would love to go for it one day too. Read about the journey to Laura’s First Triathlon, her training plans and goals. So much inspiration!

If you enjoy looking at amazing fitness photos, the  you will love the Running Photographer blog and her recent post on whether it’s possible to run and take great photos of runners. What do you reckon, has she done a good job?

Women’s Running Race Series 2017 Ambassadors

I have mentioned before that I have been chosen as one of the Women’s Running Race Series 2017 Ambassadors, and today I would like to introduce the other ambassadors as their blogs are so different and full off lots of fitness info and inspiration.

Need a lovely recipe for a healthy drink? How about some Green smoothie with basil by the Veggie Runners? Emma Joy is the lady behind the Lipstick & trainers and has recently been featured on the front cover of the Women’s Running magazine and is also shortlisted for the Influencer of the Year!

Would you like to know what a week in training is for Gemma Hockett, the Marathon Girl? Does it involve any resting at all?

Beki has recently blogged about her Summer of challenges, and what a busy lady! This makes me realise I do need to start putting more sports events in my diary…

Do you always find excuses to find time and place to workout? Well, then you need to read Charlie’s post on How to work out wherever you are! Fab tips for this summer holiday!

If you are one of the people who would love to start running, why not downloading Sam Eastwood’s FREE 5km running plan?

Having babies changes our bodies, and I love watching Nikki Rees Instagram updates and believe that reading her post on Transformations, Abs and Bodies after Babies will be useful to many mamas out there!
