The spirit of the Olympics is inspiring the UK, and one of the tastiest ways it’s doing that is via MsMarmiteLover’s Global Feast.
We’re big fans of MsMarmiteLover, who’s a top-rated food blogger in the UK and was a featured speaker at BritMums Live 2012. She’s put together this eating experience, which is a journey of the best of world food, a different cuisine every evening. They describe it:
Over 20 successive evenings during the London Olympics, 80 guests will gather at the Old Town Hall in Stratford to travel through the cultures and cuisines of the entire world, tasting a different specialty each night.
Each evening features a guest chef along with curator MsMarmiteLover, aka Kerstin Rodgers, who runs The Underground Restaurant.
It’s good food as theatre – you book according to a time zone world map; the experience runs until August 13. Even the table itself adheres to the world theme – it’s a specially designed world-map table 16 feet long and three-dimensional.
There’s still time to grab tickets and “book your trip” (we’d love to go to Japan night next Tuesday to eat green beans with black sesame sauce and a Japanese version of Eton Mess (aka Tokyo Mess) with green tea marscapone. Tickets costs £45 per person and include a welcome cocktail and canapes, three-course meal and drink, entertainment, and access to the World Bar.
It’s been a Time Out Critic’s Choice and written about everywhere from foodie blogs to The Telegraph.
Book a seat and sit down to a meal that gives you a taste of the Olympics without fighting the crowds at the stadium.
