Does a good book add to your Summer holiday? What will you be popping in the suitcase this year?
BritMums book club members recently read The Judas Scar by Amanda Jennings.
The book is described as a domestic thriller which immediately intrigued me and made me anticipate something a little different.
The story introduces us to a couple Will and Harmony who are coming to terms with the loss of their baby to miscarriage in very individual ways. A charismatic stranger Luke enters their world and turns out to be not quite the stranger that we immediately think.
The book covers some powerful themes including love, friendship and trust.
For anyone who finds themselves in the world of social media, it also poses interesting questions on what might happen when things like Twitter and Facebook enable us to look again at relationships that we thought remained firmly in the past.
