What blogging with integrity means

What blogging with integrity means

To coin a phrase, the more things change, the more things change – at least when it comes to blogging. There’s always a new development, and BritMums was founded to create a friendly and supportive community as dynamic as its blogger members.

We’re continually evolving and are proud to have created an open forum that thrives on genuine engagement and real conversations. (That’s what you tell us you like best about BritMums as well.) As such, we’ve recently updated our Blogging with Integrity statement to include the issue of “fake followers” and the practice of buying followers on social network platforms. In a word, we’re against it.

You can read more about our Blogging With Integrity campaign here. We’re proud to say that we started this campaign way back in 2009 – long before the Office of Fair Trading turned its attention to the issue – because transparent, truthful, considerate and ethical blogging has always been at the heart of what we do, whether on the network, on the blog or at our conference BritMums Live.

Like our members, we’re always thinking about ways to evolve – we’re always “leading the conversation”.

I think I've missed something here following the comment from 'an honest person'. Who is Susanna?

An interesting post indeed. With all this integrity spilling out in bucket loads perhaps Susanna might like to share how this statement fits in with the fact that she uses competitors brand name in the meta tags on her blog??

Great advice, and good to re-cap on. I write a food blog and I wrote my first post today on a product that had been sent to me. I've turned everything else down on the grounds that I wouldn't use it in my own kitchen. This one appealed to me, and the company were sponsoring the World Wildlife Fund so I tackled it. I found it hard not to look too corporate when writing like this, which is not my usual style. Any feedback Brit Mums greatly appreciated!
