Video Round-up: Want to start vlogging?

Welcome to November’s video round-up. As many of you know, I am relatively new to vlogging and, since having started, I have had lots of people ask me for tips on starting to vlog. As much as I have lots of ideas, I am by no means an expert so this month’s round-up brings you the best from the best with their tips on how to get started! 

First up is Aby from You Baby Me Mummy with her How to Start Vlogging post. Aby gives lots of advice from standing in front of the mirror (I admit I’ve done this!) to imagining you are chatting to a friend. This is an excellent starting point for anyone wanting to give vlogging a go.

Kirsty Pirie has a lovely chatty vlog about how to start and is very encouraging with her ‘just go for it‘ approach. Kirsty also talks about how vlogging serves as a memory bank. Such a wonderful sentiment. 

Another vlogger giving similar advice to Kirsty about just going for it is Mrs Meldrum with her excellent top 10 tips. Here she talks about finding your niche and finding your audience amidst some very helpful other tips. Definitely worth a watch for those newbies out there.

The wonderful Magpie Mama has a brilliant vlog with Charli Marie, a vlogger from New Zealand, who gives 5 excellent tips on how to get started with vlogging. Included are some great pointers on how to grow your audience and how to be unique – something which I think many of us Vloggers would love pointers on!

With regard to some simple tips on how to make a great video with your phone, Nadine Hill has a really informative post on how to shoot a quick and easy film on your phone. Nadine also has a post on how to shoot a great family movie with some tips on how to capture those wonderful family moments and even how to star in your own movie too!

For some advice on video editing, Jane Batt provides some excellent advice on how to tell a story and how to cut down all that footage effectively – no easy task. This is a must watch video for those who need some editing advice.

Finally, there are lots of vlogging linkys out there but one that is fantastic for beginners is the Vlogstars run by Aby from You Baby Me Mummy and Amy Treasure from Mr And Mrs T Plus Three. Different themes each time and is run on the second Thursday of the month. This is definitely worth checking out to build up your confidence!

Thank you to everyone who submitted videos for me to consider for this month’s round-up. I certainly found this invaluable and I hope that those who are considering taking the plunge into vlogging are feeling a little more confident now.
