Video Round-up: When is a video better than words?

When Sarah from Party of Seven, shows us the incredible zip wire her husband made for their kids, because seeing is believing.

When Hayley’s daughter Natty was awarded her Local Hero Award for Child of Courage or Achievement of the Year, because apart from the fact that Natty is a hero, she’s also a VERY entertaining little girl.

When Hayley from Downs Side Up tweeted me this link seconds after I submitted this, I had to go in and add it, because we love new vloggers, and well she’s fitted in so well with this month’s theme, the topic is so moving and unusual, but also completely, perfectly suited to video.

When three bloggers, Actually Mummy, Mari’s World and Sharon of I heart Motherhood, organised by Missie Lizzie,  joined the 30 Choir Festival, because no one wants to just read about the first rehearsal, we want to hear it, singing bit at 3.15 mins 😉

When Nadine at Juggle Mum shows us What should a busy mum pack for Butlins, because it’s like sitting down with your mate for a chat on the sofa.

When Maggy shows us how they have been preparing food for their tadpoles at Life at the Zoo, because I haven’t seen tadpoles for years. Plus ideas for Father’s Day gifts in a Red Ted Art hangout, because it takes me at least a month to get my kids to get round to making any kind of card or gift.

The next generation

Last month I started handing over a little to blogger’s children for videos, this month You Tubers Charlieissocoollike and his mum Lilies are Like caught my eye. They went to Tanzania with Save the Children and the #IF campaign. I’ve found their mother/son partnership and their video campaign really inspiring.

A video is better than words when it makes you want to get up and try something new, my 4 year old son and I were inspired to make these bottle top monsters after watching another young man called Charlie’s very cool tutorial.

The most hit upon vlog on my website? Nothing to do with my vlogging skills. It’s my daughter’s video tour of the YHA in Castleton which still gets daily hits via the YHA’ site, and is a great example of how valuable child labour home made videos can be to brands.
