Video Round-up: Time for you!

Video Round-up: Time for you!

Firstly, hooray for everyone who survived January! So, how are the New Year Resolutions going? I hope you are managing to stick to them. Can be so hard can’t it? I didn’t make any set goals this year but am trying more to make the most of life, instead of letting it run away with me. Not always easy, I admit! Anyway, one of the points raised in my last round-up post was about trying to focus on giving yourself some time, taking some time out, even, to treat yourself. I invited vloggers to submit videos to me with this in mind and I have such a wonderful selection for you.

Firstly, I have two videos for you from the wonderful Charlotte The Magpie Mama. Her first video provides the fantastic idea of creating a personal inspiration area for yourself. This is such a great idea and so achievable for everyone. I really need to work on finding a space in my own home for writing, instead of balancing a laptop on my lap and fill it with wonderful blogging inspiration! Charlotte’s second video is very humorous and really made me laugh. It’s about mindfulness, which I really enjoy practicing, but I love Charlotte’s take on it on this paricular evening in the video!

When we think about time for ourselves as mums it can very much be about beauty treats. This is something that feels so decadent when we are mothers but so important to make time for to make us feel great about ourselves again. Mary Louise from My Model Mummy uploaded a great video on WonderBrow eyebrow gel liner. Now, if you want the perfect brows then you need to watch this as it is seriously impressive! For hair inspiration, you need to watch this video from Ami at My Mummy Spam who shared a video on having her hair done. Oh, don’t you just feel like a new woman after a couple of hours in the hairdressers’ and Ami hair looks just amazing! Now, if you still think you don’t have time to squeeze in a beauty treatment then you need to watch this video from Sian at A Helpful Mum who, in her day in the life video, managed to squeeze a pedicure in whilst looking after two children and running a B&B. I seriously don’t know how she does it!

Another favourite pastime, when we think about time for ourselves, is shopping and Kerry Conway shows us one of her shopping hauls without the children, with some wonderful clothes bought for her girls! Time for ourselves can also be just having a day off. Oh. what bliss! Kat from Baby Free Mummy shares her day off with us as she spends some time in Camden which includes mulled wine and girly chats!

Now, it’s all very well to spend some time for ourselves but it’s also wonderful to look out for others too. Lauretta does exactly this with her beautiful thoughtfulness in putting a care package together for a friend. This is such a kind thing to do and it’s inspired me to put one together for my sister who is currently unwell, so thank you.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their videos for consideration. Next month I’m going to be looking for videos on holiday inspiration. I think, by March, we will all be ready for some sun and holiday dreaming! If you have anything suitable, please send to me at helen@justsayingmum.com.

About Helen Sandle

Hi, I’m Helen and mum to two teenage daughters and one teenage son and am married to a very handsome man! I blog at www.justsayingmum.com mainly about the musings of raising three teens which, as I’m sure you can imagine, comes with plenty of stories! I have also started vlogging about teens issues and all these vlogs are either with my children themselves chatting about various relevant issues to being a teen or with the fabulous Sarah and Jayne who are talking therapists who specialise in teens so we have lots of fun talking about very real parenting teen issues!
