In the last few years, family cruising has become a huge part of the cruise business. No longer the preserve of the richer, elder clientele, cruises provide fantastic holiday experiences for children of all ages. Operators have considered just about every possible entertainment option for families and, with a vast choice of food outlets and a dizzying array of shore excursions, you can see why parents are keen to give it a try.
I’ve gathered together a number of blog posts, mostly from BritMums members, to highlight what cruising entails for families today. Discover what facilities can be found on various ships and be guided by our experts to help you choose the best cruise for your family.

A river cruise with a difference
River cruising is still very much an adult affair, although it is starting to appeal to younger customers. Catherine, however, found a river cruise which incorporated bike travel and her family, including two 13 year old boys, had a wonderful time. We loved our traditional European cruise last year as a couple but this idea of cycling between port stops really appeals to me. What do you think?

About Trish Burgess
Trish Burgess started her blog ‘Mum’s Gone To…’ with a series of posts called ‘Mum's Gone To Iceland' where she was extremely ill on a whale-watching trip and thought she would die snow-mobiling on a glacier. Thankfully she survived and continued with less scary family trips: ‘Mum’s Gone To…Canada, Cyprus, Barcelona, Berlin etc. Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne she now lives in South Lincolnshire and travels with her husband and occasionally with her son, who is now at university.
