The simple photo storage solution for techno-phobes #ad

Zena's Suitcase family on BritMums

The Zena’s Suitcase family strikes a pose

Smile! That’s not just what we say when taking pictures. That’s what five BritMums Influencers did after trying out My Cloud Home, the stylish and practical digital storage device where you can easily save and organise all your favorite digital content in one place and access it from anywhere. (This post is part of a sponsored project with My Cloud Home.)

Like most of us, these families have been searching for a way to bring all their photographs together in one digital space and manage the massive amount of pictures and video families keep. BritMums are working with Western Digital in a paid relationship to instigate a new weekly family ritual #ScreeningSunday: the modern day equivalent of looking through a family album with the added bonus of being able to watch and store videos and gifs too!

Setting up and using My Cloud Home

Now that our Influencers had their My Cloud Home up and running, we wanted to find out how they got on with the kit. Were the instructions easy to follow? Would they recommend it to others? Their responses were overwhelmingly positive:

Self-confessed techno-phobe ChelseaMamma was skeptical about how easy the set-up process would be, usually preferring to leave all things techy to her husband and teen. She was pleasantly surprised to discover that plugging it into her wireless router and downloading the app was “super-easy”.  She also liked being able to invite family members not living at the same address to share their photos. Laura from Five Little Doves wholeheartedly agrees. “There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t send my parents at least one photo of the children I have taken that day,” she writes. (Check out the video further down in the piece featuring blogger Uju that shows how easy it is to get started.)

Setting up My Cloud Home by Five Little Doves

Dadblog UK found the My Cloud Home to be “an incredibly simple device to use,” He’s even inspired to digitise all of his old childhood photographs and store them all on his My Cloud Home for posterity – and future #ScreeningSundays of course!

Zena from Zena’s Suitcase loved the fact she was able to sync photos from other subscriptions and social media services like Dropbox, Facebook and Instagram. But her My Cloud Home really came into its own when her two daughters joined her to look through the family archive. “It was like a forgotten chapter of their lives had been opened and they could enjoy all those colourful happy memories once again.”

“If you’ve been planning a digital declutter, My Cloud Home is a great place to start,” says Babes About Town’s Uju whose son Ezra “is thrilled to have his own folder that not only backs up his digital files, but frees up space on his phone.”

And at the Five Little Doves house, Laura’s children couldn’t wait to take part in Screening Sunday. “Will there be popcorn?” asked Megan. And there was popcorn, and soft snuggly blankets, and lots of laughter from the children and sniffly tears from me, as we viewed baby photos, holiday snaps and photographs we had long forgotten.” (Pass the tissues, please!)
