The GCSEs and A Levels are well underway and the SATs are a distant memory. How are your kids coping with exam pressure? Are the parents finding it more stressful than the teenagers?
Here’s what the BritMums teens and tweens have been up to this month.
Over at Stressy Mummy, Nikki’s son might only be 11, but he’s grunting, rolling his eyes and showing all the signs of a teenager in training. Anyone else got one like this?
I love this post from Tara at Sticky Fingers, wondering if we ever stop worrying about our children. As she says, she wants them to be independent and doesn’t want to wrap them in cotton wool, but still she worries! What do you think? Do you worry about your teens and tweens?
Raising Teens is a new blog from a mum who has decided to blog her son’s way through his teens, starting with this post as he turns 13. Like so many of us, she’s wondering how on earth he is a teen already?
At 3 Children and It, Suzanne’s eldest daughter has just turned 15 and she has very wise words of advice for her. I think a lot of us could heed this advice ourselves – and share it with our own sons and daughters.
The teenage years are a time for doing new things and for rites of passage. It can feel like a scary time for parents, but our kids often surprise us and take things in their stride. Over at MumofThree World, I was very pleased with how my son coped with his French exchange. Here’s hoping the return visit goes equally as well!
Kids facing their GCSEs for the first time? Never fear, Best Dad I Can Be is facing it for the third time and apparently all you need is a see-through pencil case, a big supply of bacon and a lot of trust.
How does it feel when your teenage kids suddenly get better than doing things than you (other than technology, because we know they’re much better at that)? Best Dad I Can Be has been finding out the hard way…
Talking of technology, in the last Teen and Tween Round-up I shared my new screen times rules for my two tweens and my teenager at MumofThree World, so it’s only right that I update on how they’ve been going! Surprisingly well, as it happens! I would definitely recommend parents put rules in place if they feel screen time is getting out of control.
Tissues at the ready… The 40(isn) Year Old Domestic Goddess’ daughter has gone to school for the last time and her mum has written this beautiful post to mark the occasion.
That’s about all for this month. If you have a post to share about teens or tweens, please add it to the linky below or tweet me your links (@sarahMo3W) for inclusion in next month’s round-up.
About Sarah Wood
Sarah is mum to a teenage boy and a tween boy and girl. When it comes to primary school stuff, she's got it sussed. But she's realising that as secondary school and puberty hit, she's still got a lot to learn! Between tweeting, blogging and parenting, Sarah is a freelance PR and copywriter, who still finds time to run long distances and eat a lot of chocolate. It doesn't leave much time for housework.
