Single Parent Round-up: I’m positive it’s almost Christmas!

single parent round-upAre you feeling festive yet? I’m afraid I’m one of those irritating November Christmas-ers, and so there is a lot of Christmas in this round-up. I’ve tried to keep this month’s posts all quite positive so as to brighten your festive season. Being a single parent at this time of year can be a bit hard, but our lovely single parents are still writing some brilliant and uplifting posts!

This Lady Writes has written a lovely post about being the mother of an autistic child. It’s a truly beautiful post that’s really positive; her love for her son really shines through.

Doing her best to keep up with the positivity is Blush, Belly and Babies; this post about tooth brushing is something I think all parents can relate to. I’m certainly taking notes!

Speaking of positivity, did I mention it’s nearly Christmas? I’m rather excited, you might have noticed. I absolutely loved this post from Alice & Amelia with a Christmas advent box. I’m considering stealing half the ideas ready for December!

I loved this post on Oh So Amelia about ways of lowering energy bills; especially since at this time of year, my house is 80% fairy lights.

This post from Confessions of a Single Parent Pessimist may have made me a bit weepy. I love the sound of Claire’s mum, she sounds like such a positive role model. I do hope she’s on the mend now.

For anyone who’s not yet convinced of my love for Christmas, here Hannah Spannah Coco Banana  shows us how to make a simple hanging snowman. Do you wanna build a snowman? (oh, come on – as if you weren’t already singing it any way)

Finally, a post from yours truly – Single Mother Ahoy – about happiness. It’s underrated, and easier to obtain than a lot of people think!

If you’re a single parent blogger do please wave, jump and shout so as to draw attention to yourself and your blogging antics. Alternatively, you could add a post to the linky below!

NB There will be no Single Parent Round-up next month due to Christmas – we will return at the end of January. Do please continue to update this linky with posts of which you are proud; you can also contact me via Twitter (@singlemahoy) or email (singlemotherahoy@gmail.com) with your post submissions.

One last thing:

Merry Christmas!

Have a wonderful festive season, whether you’re a single parent, a double parent, a co-parent, a separated parent, a married parent… any kind of parent. And if you’re not a parent too!

About Vicky Charles

Vicky is a 35 year old single mother with a cheeky 4 year old. She lives in Wiltshire and works as a freelance writer and trainer in blogging and social media. She has been a single mother since her daughter was 2 weeks old, and started blogging to try and give voice to her feelings of “lost-at-sea-ness” that all mothers get, but that single mothers often don’t have any company in. In her spare time, she usually develops addictions to dvd box sets and sometimes cleans the living room… but not often.
