Single Parent Round-Up: Blue skies and wise words

single parent round-upWelcome to April’s Single Parent round-up. How has your month been so far?

Our single parents have been blogging lots as usual… let’s see what they’ve had to say.

I loved this post from Gemma the Family Girl of 29 things she’s learned in her 29 years. Very wise words from someone who’s about to turn 30. In a similar vein, Aly from Messed Up Mum shares five big life lessons. I love both of these posts because they’re full of words to live by!

Looking for Blue Sky is going for a trial separation from alcohol; I have similar feelings myself regarding alcohol so I can relate to this post.  Also, a hangover is difficult to negotiate alongside a toddler, as I’m sure all parents will agree!

I’m looking at school options for my daughter at the moment, so when Martyn from Inside Martyn’s Thoughts wrote a post about how he home schools his sons, I was really interested to read. I’m not so sure I could do as good a job as Martyn though to be honest.

And finally, because at the time of writing the weather seems to have returned to “typical April,” I want to share a post from Becky at Lakes Single Mum. She’s been in Cornwall lately and has posted some gorgeous pictures – but these from Newquay and Mawgan Porth are my favourite. Come back blue skies, we miss you!!

About Vicky Charles

Vicky is a 35 year old single mother with a cheeky 4 year old. She lives in Wiltshire and works as a freelance writer and trainer in blogging and social media. She has been a single mother since her daughter was 2 weeks old, and started blogging to try and give voice to her feelings of “lost-at-sea-ness” that all mothers get, but that single mothers often don’t have any company in. In her spare time, she usually develops addictions to dvd box sets and sometimes cleans the living room… but not often.
