Thrifty Round-up; box crafting, poverty & coathangers

My own favourite blog post this month has to be my podcast on wearing a vest and an empty nest. Please come and have a listen. If you are new to podcasts they only require you to press play and listen. I make a podcast each tueday always with a thrifty theme. This one is a little chat about the challenges of September and explores too why too many activities for kids effect not only our purses but our relationships too. My favourite thrifty reads this month include Penny at the Alexander Residence who has been crafting in a box…she is one creative, thrifty mama! You can easily have a go at this at home.

I have been really moved reading Simply Hayley, in her blog Hayley has been talking about what living in poverty is really like. Have a read, you’ll be moved too.

I also want to share with you Scraphacker. Not a mummy blog but an inspirational thrifty blog for all of us. It shows you amazing ways to upcycle any and everything! You will not believe what you can do with a coathanger and I know you will really be delighted to discover this truly inspiring site.

My Beautiful Life is a new blog to me but its written by Frugal Mummy who appears to be a a very well prepared thrifter. Can you believe she is on her 8^th Christmas prep post. I REFUSE to go there till November, but she shares some wise words and her planning ahead has some sound thrifty reasons!
