I honestly can’t believe the school holidays are almost upon us! But they are, so welcome to July’s SEND Round-up, bringing together posts about our kids and reflecting on their time at school.
The years go by so quickly in our home. It seems I go from helping our ADHD lad with his homework to Sport’s Day ever so quick. Though in many ways, Sport’s Day is not so much about Sport at all. His achievements are less obvious for people to see.
First Time Valley Mam is looking through her son’s achievements and work in her post about parents evening and friendships. How friendships with other school children are going is causing Hunter’s Life to feel like a bit of a judge.
It’s not unusual for friends to behave differently outside school though. And our kids need something else to. Sensational Learning with Penguin talks about when her autistic child recognises and communicates their need for downtime. Definitely a good thing happening there.
MummyEst.2014 is considering early years (and how science, technology, engineering and mathematics fits into it). The Wrong Kind of Snow highlights that, yes, even SEND children receive an education and spend time learning. This is definitely the case for The Long Chain, who is enjoying nursery graduation – a chance to be proud and to thank the staff who have done a great job.
It’s only through educating the educators about our kids that things can have a chance of working. Steph’s Two Girls is hoping her post on 10 things you need to know about PDA, will do that and more. I hope so to.

I can’t believe how fast July has reached us. Thankfully J goes to ‘all year round’ nursery so he still goes 2 mornings over the summer holidays but all his other groups and therapies have stopped for summer. So lots of Home learning and careful planning of trips out (now everywhere is getting busier). Some great bloggers linked to, thanks for having us x
