Firstly, apologies for the review round-up being a little late this month. I can only put it down to life. Every blogger has been there, right? When you think you’re on top of it all and then everything hits you in one go and unfortunately blogging takes the hit. Well fellow blogging mums and dads, I can only apologise and hope you continue to submit the amazing reviews you do.
This month there was definitely a trend in the reviews that focussed on the colder months we are heading towards and of course there were lots of ideas for Christmas and the holiday season too, which I am a huge fan of!
So without further ado, here are my favourite reviews from the last round up, which I had to share with you.
Although not Winter or Christmas related, I have to give The DADventurer some serious brownie points this month for his very detailed review of something he probably won’t have a lot of first hand experience of, but with the help of “his missus” he has managed to do a fantastic job at telling us about the Medela Breastpump and Bravado Nursing bra, both of which have helped them on their breastfeeding journey.
On the toys front, I really enjoyed My Mummy’s Pennies’ review of the Doc McStuffin’s Carry Along Clinic . The pictures of her little girl playing with the set are adorable and which parent hasn’t secretly wished that their child grow up to be a doctor? This would definitely be a winner with any budding doctor.
Also, did I mention Christmas is coming? If your little one is a budding chef then these Melissa and Doug Christmas Cookies reviewed by Twin Mummy and Daddy are a great addition to the toy box this festive season.
Beauty & Fashion
As a parent, I do love to dress up my little guy. He is only one, so doesn’t get much say in what he wears. But I know that the time isn’t far away when he wants to dress in outfits that reflect whichever character from TV he is mad about. Blogger Mummy Lauren has been checking out the offerings from LamaLoLi, an online store that offers character branded clothes for kids and adults that don’t break the bank.
If a special little girl in your life likes Frozen (I think it’s that movie with a song about building a snowman) and there is an occasion to dress up this Winter, then check out the reviews of Otley Run Fancy Dress by both My Mummy’s Pennies and ET Speaks from Home
Martini Mum has managed to getaway from the cold to show us a very different side to Ibiza and I have to admit, it’s not the twenty-something year old giant rave that I expected it to be. One for the bucket list maybe?
If you are looking for a bit of R&R on home soil, but thought having children made spa breaks a thing of the past, think again! By far, the favourite thing that I have reviewed this month on Kiddy Reviews was my birthday break to The Grove. Three hundred acres of land, 5* hotel facilities, golf, spa, with the added bonus of the hotel being very child friendly and even providing on-site childcare facilities.
For a more active day out, My Family Ties took her two girls to Ripley’s Believe It or Not and highly recommends it for a family day out. With 700+ artefacts, this is definitely one to keep the kids entertained.
Games consoles will be high on the Christmas wish list for gamers of all ages, so check out the Nintendo 2DS review by Mari’s World. Both Mari and her girls are loving it. In fact, I’m not a gamer but Mari has me wanting to put on of these on my Christmas wish list too!
Pets are usually quite high up on the wish list too, but any parent will want to be 100% sure that the pet will be well looked after before bringing one home. Here’s where ET Speaks from Home’s review of the Teksta Robotic Puppy can help. Maybe try a robotic puppy this year and consider a real one next Christmas?
Another bit of technology that has caught my eye this month is the Braun No Touch Thermometer by You Baby Me Mummy. My baby had his first fever recently and trying to take a screaming baby or sleeping baby’s temperature is not easy, so this is genius. I’m sure we will have plenty more colds through the Winter months, so I will be getting my hands on this.
The colder months also mean keeping on top of your vitamin intake, which is where Bizzimummy’s review of the Philips Compact Viva Collection Juicer comes in. This juicer makes it so quick and easy to stay on top of your 5-a-day and doesn’t take up too much valuable counter top space.
Winter also means the gas and electric bills are set to rise, not helped by the fact that we will all be using our tumble driers more to dry the laundry. However, Redhead Babyled may have the answer with the Dry-Soon 3 Tier Heated Airer, a much more economical way of drying your laundry when you can’t hang it outdoors.
What have you been reviewing this month? Make sure you add your latest reviews to the linky below and remember to tweet me @kiddyreviews using #britmumsreviews and I will RT each of your links. Until next month…
