Post-40 Bloggers Round-up: If you read only 1 post…

You know when you come across an article and you nod at every sentence so hard your head actually does fall off? The Telegraph’s Saffron Alexander’s eloquent and non-parochial article, ‘The authors who prove it’s never too late to write a book’, did that for me this week.

Why?

Because the article contained more than the authors who first went on to publishing success for the first time on or after the age of 40 (see The Prime Writers). It contained hope, validation and a solid dose of hutzpah; such that I imagined 40+ creatives everywhere getting off their proverbials and dusting off long-held ambitions – or unwrapping new ones.

And whilst I don’t particularly resonate with the adage life begins at 40, this article underlines Post-40 Bloggers’ cherished belief that it doesn’t end there either.

Above was the introduction I wrote to Saffron’s post over on Post-40 Bloggers, but something else occurred to me afterwards. Of course peers aspiring and succeeding is a good thing – but it can also have the opposite effect of making us feel a little daunted. A “where do I even begin to start?” feeling.
