Brr, winter has finally arrived and as I sit here in front of a warm, cosy fire warming my hands on a hot cup of cocoa, I glance out of the window and put off that trip to the supermarket. I would much rather be inside reading all your lovely winter blog posts.
I’ll kick of this months round-up with Afra from ‘Mad Mum of 7’, a post she wrote last month to mark ‘Anti-Bullying week‘ really touched me, and as she politely says ‘Up Yours Bullies!’ I found myself saying “Yeah, Up Yours!!!” out loud.
A really emotional post from Laura at ‘Tired Mummy of Two’ had me in tears, tears of happiness as her Daughter Elizabeth reaches the end of two years of cancer treatment. Finishing up her chemotherapy marks the start of a new chapter in their lives and I couldn’t be more thrilled for the Family.
I love this next post from Suzanne over at ‘3 Children and It’. I found myself nodding along to every sentence of her list of how things are different at Christmas with older kids. As a mother of teenagers (and kids in their twenties) I really relate to how the celebrations change when the kids are older, especially number 10 “The Christmas social scene can be fully enjoyed without the need for babysitters – this one has been a LONG time coming!” Hell yeah!
On the other end of the scale ‘Ghostwriter Mummy’ shares the truth about life with a newborn. The hard work of caring for a newborn baby is absolutely exhausting and those of us who have done it or are doing it totally ‘get’ this post. A lovely post. Congratulations to Ghost Writer Mummy on the birth of her new addition. What a gorgeous baby!
Colette from ‘We’re Going On An Adventure’ has written a ‘Winter Bucket List‘ and I totally love it! Such a great idea, especially for those of us who find the winter drags on. A bucket list helps us to focus of the positives of winter, and reminds us that we can have lots to look forward to during this chilly season.
As I put off venturing outside in the cold I spot Annie’s ‘How Does Your Garden Grow‘ post that features stunning winter photo’s of the New Forest. I know I have featured Annie before but this post just oozes so much loveliness, that I simply had to share it with you. It inspired me so much to get outside and enjoy the freshness of the season.
Anyway, I’m now off to catch the shop before it closes so I’ll see you again in February with another round-up. The very lovely Michelle will be with you next month with more wonderfully inspiring posts, so until then have a fabulous Christmas and New Year.
