Positively Inspirational Round-up: Warmer Days Ahead

We have managed to get through the first month of the year, we have made our new year resolutions, set our goals for the next twelve months and beat the January blues, but Oh Boy hasn’t it been cold! The early appearence of snowdrops popping up everywhere with the promise of warmer days ahead has put such a smile on my face and makes me eager to start work in the garden. I’m itching to pull on my wellies and pick up my spade. Roll on Spring!

Team Honk – Kicking off this months round-up are the fabulously inspirational folks who are taking part in the Team Honk Relay. Over 200 Bloggers from all over the Country are walking, running, swimming, sailing, rollerblading and cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats, passing the baton and raising loads of cash for Comic Relief along the way. They are all such an inspiration and they need your support so please pop over and give them a huge pat on the back.

Together we Can Beat Bullying – Another campaign that needs your support is ‘Love for Izzy Dix’. A heart breaking story of a teenage girl who was driven to take her own life after being systematically bullied for two years, the worst of the  bullying took place on a website called Ask.fm. Last Saturday their petition reached the support of 100,000 people all calling on David Cameron to help close down or place restrictions on Ask.fm. Izzy’s inspirational Mum, Gabbi and her blogger pal Maddie over at ‘Gammon and Chips’ need help spreading the word about the damage that bullying can do to fragile teenagers.

Appreciating Our Friends – The lovely Charlotte from ‘Write Like No One’s Watching’ reminds us to appreciate the power of the friendships that surround us. After a sad and painful break up her support network have helped her remain positive during times of turmoil.

Recording The Moment – Sarah from ‘Pacific Plate Brit’  tells us how writing and reading about the little moments in hers and in the lives of others have empowered her over the years. Writing a blog has helped her to keep a positive focus as she looks back on all she has done,  thankful that she recorded all those little slices of positivity.

Pretty Woman – A super post from Nickie over at IamTypecast as she shares her seven life lessons from the movie ‘Pretty Woman’. I love how she encourages us to look at this classic film from a different perspective. Full of yummy positive vibes, it made me smile as I read it.

Family Date Nights – I couldn’t help but say “Aww” out loud as I opened this post from Bee over at ‘Bee’s Circus’. Gorgeous photo’s, full of fun. I love this great idea of family date nights. During my childhood we had family home evenings every Monday night, where we would all stay in and do family stuff together. It usually involved a trip to the video rental store and Mum made us do it every week without fail…and I’m really glad she did. A lovely idea to ensure everyone spends at least one night a week together, which is not always easy in a busy home but well worth the effort if you can enforce it.

I have really enjoyed everyone’s wonderful posts, full of positivity, all kicking negativity to the kerb. The very gorgeous Michelle will be back in March for next months round-up and I’ll see you again in April, hopefully with some warmer weather.
