I’m really thrilled to have been asked to write for the Positively Inspirational round up for June and July while Michelle is taking a break, to move house and start her wonderful new life in a gorgeous location. I’m sure like me, you wish her all the best and lots of happiness in her new home. As Michelle has some big changes ahead of her, I thought this months round up could be centred around those who have made or have encountered certain changes in their lives with a positive and inspiring story to tell us.
Mummy Has To Go Away – Kicking off my round up is Emma Day who blogs over at Crazy With Twins. She is a Mum of three who has been battling thyroid cancer and her recent treatment after surgery, involves the use of internal radioactive iodine, which means she dangerously emits radiation from her body. Emma can not hold her children for 30 days while going through this gruelling treatment and the wonderful world of blogesphere have been a huge support to her while she is stuck in isolation. I admire Emma’s strength and courage as she remains so positive throughout this difficult change to her family’s life.
Welcome – Over the past few months I have been following Older Mum in A Muddle as she embarked upon her journey to put her flat on the market and re-locate. It wasn’t long before the ‘sold’ sign went up and she began patiently waiting for the sale to be finalised. Living out of boxes for weeks, as she gradually packed away her possessions, until she then finally moved into her lovely new house. Older Mum now has her very own garden that she has been craving for her family. Excitement of her new home oozes from every pore in this post and I can’t help but feel a positive vibe as I read it. A reminder that moving house is so worth all the stress and upheaval.
Keeping Step-Mum – Dragonsflypoppy’s very emotional post over at White Feathers And So Much More about the big changes to her life on becoming a step-parent, really struck a chord with me. As a step child myself, I know how difficult the relationship can be. I love how positive things have worked out for her as she has overcome the trials and tribulations that step-parenting can sometimes bring.
The discovery Of My Parents – I love this story by Fab At Forty, about how she suddenly changed the way in which she looked at her parents. After 18 years, they were no longer just her parents, but people living real, everyday lives. I can relate to this sudden light bulb moment, as I had a similar experience with my own Mum during my youth, and our relationship changed almost overnight.
Changing Lives – I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to pack up your home and move away to start a new life in another country, and I admire anyone who is brave enough to do it. Lou’s Lake Views tells us that emigrating to Canada from the UK was the toughest decision of her life but the most exhilarating, as she adapts to life in her new home abroad.
A Legacy – I felt very touched as I read this emotional tribute to a lost Grandmother. I couldn’t help but feel instantly lifted, as I read the lovely words and saw the huge, warm smile that greeted me on this post. Old Police House reminds us of the rhythms of life as she lost her beautiful Grandmother on the very same morning that she gave birth to her new baby, Ruby. She tells us that her Grandmother’s legacy to her was “Do not be afraid to be the one making change”. Such a positive, inspiring message to end my round up on.
If you have an inspirational post please add it to the Linky below and spread your message further.
Mama Syder is a 42 year old married Mum of four and a Grandmother to one from Essex, who has been blogging over at ‘The Syders’ for nearly five years. A thrifty Mama, she lives a simple lifestyle while keeping chickens, growing her own vegetables, homeschooling, sewing, crocheting and enjoying the small things in life. Always on the lookout for a bargain, you’ll usually find her rummaging in her local charity shop as she collects vintage items for her retro caravan ‘Bertha’.
