I just can’t believe how fast these months are flying by. We are in April already, the daffodils and hyacinths are dying off as they make way for roses and geraniums. I can’t wait for the summer to arrive, to potter in my garden while the radio plays, the hens forage and the kids play. But, for now all I can do is count down the days.
Back in 2008 when I first started writing my blog The Syders, there wasn’t the huge UK blogging community that we are blessed with today, in fact there was only a handful of us, so most of the blogs I followed were from the US. However, one of the first UK blogs that I started reading was ‘A Mothers Ramblings’. Pippa’s blog began in 2007, and like most of us who have been blogging for a long time, she has gone through all the different changes that have taken place within the UK blogging community over recent years, and at times questioned if she really wants to carry on. I love her post ‘How Things Change‘ as she shares with us, her personal blogging journey.
I absolutely sobbed my heart out when I read ‘What My Mother Taught Me‘ by Susan over at ‘Happy Healthy Mumma’. Such a beautifully written post about her wonderfully inspirational Mum who sadly lost her battle with Cancer, after years of living with MS. Have your tissues ready.
Another fabulous blog that I’ve been reading for years is ‘A Bavarian Sojourn’. I love how Emma shares her life in Munich with us, with her stunning photo’s and detailed posts about her travels. I would love to share every single one of her posts but as I seem to have a bit of a Mothers day theme going on this month, I urge you to read how she spent her Bavarian Mothers Day.
Kiran over at ‘Mummy Says’ reminds us that Mums need to be given a huge pat on the back from time to time and told what a good job they are doing. Motherhood is hard work especially when dealing with tantrums and piles of laundry. Her gorgeous, thought-provoking post ‘A Good Mother‘ made me smile.
You might need your tissues again for this one. Rachel over at ‘Mummy Glitzer’ wrote a post about how she coped this Mothers Day after the loss of her Mum. Every year she struggles with this day on the calendar, but this year something was different, she felt stronger and more able to face the day with a smile rather than tears. Having lost my Mum myself, I totally relate to her words. ‘Mothers Day Success‘ is a beautiful post.
You know I’m a sucker for a good love story and I like to slip one in if I can, so this months love story is from Wendy over at ‘Little Mans Mum’. Wendy and her Hubby celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary back in February. Such a cute couple.
So, that’s it for this month. The gorgeous Michelle will be back with next months round-up. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you again in June x
