Happy spring fellow BritMums. I’m so happy to be able to write that, I find the good weather makes such a difference, even the most miserable of people have a smile on their face once the sun starts to appear.
This month I want to share with you some blogs that are really inspiring me right now. Last November I invested in a new camera and I’m having a ball taking photographs and learning a little more about what I’m doing. If I’m honest it is all still an alien world, full of phrases that I’ve not mastered the meaning of yet but I’m having fun and some of the photos are coming out quite well, so that’s enough for me. Take a peek at this picture of Eastbourne pier, do like it? Very moody and it will remind me of the stormy January we have had forever.
There are some seriously talented photographers out there in our community, both ones that trained to do it as a job and those who picked up a camera inspired by becoming a parent. I’ll share a few of my favourites –
The first blog that never fails to please me is Capture by Lucy, her recent post tells a beautiful story of her having one-on-one time with one of her sons for a lunchtime date in Cleveland. I truly want to see the world through Lucy’s eyes, it is so beautiful.
Next up is Katie, from Mummy, Daddy, Me. I have been following her blogging journey since the beginning and I’m so proud to see how Katie has developed her blog into the success it is today. She is such an advocate for enjoying the everyday and treasuring the ordinary moments and that message to live in the day is so important. Just take a peek what she gets up to with her girls on a rainy day.
The Boy and Me has been running her 365 linky for a few years now and she encourages people to get their camera out and capture what is going on. I’ve started to join in with this for the first time in 2014 and I’m loving the visual journey I’m creating, just imagine my children being able to look back at this year in twenty years time when they are grown up, very precious. I think TBaM has a special talent for capturing pictures of her beloved boy. Just look at the first shot in this post.
Charly at PODcast always has me oohing and ahhing at her amazing photos of plants and nature, often captured with her macro lens. This is for sure the next thing on my wish list but there is a bit of saving yet! Take a look at her leaf skeleton which looks like it is floating or the purple flower which is just going to open in front of your eyes.
From a developing my skills perspective the best blog I have discovered recently is Emily Beale Photography. Emily is a professional photographer who manages to put things into simple language so newbies like me can understand and she has some fab easy to use crib sheets. Her photograph your family series is definitely worth a look…
The last blog that I want to shout-out this month is Snowing Indoors, this is quite a recent find for me, but when I read Em’s ‘about me’ page I was hooked. She says her blog is a visual gratitude journal that helps her to battle anxiety and depression, pretty inspiring stuff I say! I could sit and watch her header for ages as the beautiful images go by.
Please do feel free to leave me a comment of any blogs you find inspirational because of their images, I’d love to go visit them.
Have a great month and Mama Syder will be here in April to bring you your next dose of positivity. Mich x

Mummy from the Heart is the fourth baby of Michelle, a 46 year old (manic) mother living in East Sussex. Having moved to the countryside and ‘retired’, Michelle can now be found eating too much cake and taking long walks. She lives life on the bright side and looks for the joy in every situation, even the excess pounds those cakes keep adding! Michelle’s blog is a very honest place where she shares tales of imperfect parenting, being a Christian digital activist and anything else that takes her fancy.
