It is just over a month since we put away all the Christmas decorations away and for lots of us the New Year means a new exercise regime, healthy eating plan or a time for setting some goals for the year ahead. I am among one of the many people who had a dry January, and I feel so much better for it plus giving up my Friday night vino has helped me to stick with my new weight loss programme.
Kate from ‘Wit Wit Woo’ shared her slimming World results with us and wow, what a difference after only two weeks. Kate shares a detailed post about the plan and some examples of the meals she has been eating. A great post if you are on or contemplating signing up to Slimming World.
A few bloggers have been taking part in the Slimfast challenge (me included) and most of them have had great results. I lost 3lb on my first week which I was really pleased with and I have lost a further 4lb since starting it. Donna from ‘What The Red Head Said’ shares her experience of seven days on the plan, giving you an excellent insight into what you can eat for snacks and meals.
Our goals for the year ahead do not always need to be about food, booze or weight, they can also be about words. I love, love, love Jen’s blog post about her word for the year on her blog ‘Mum In The Madhouse’. Jen tells us that she has picked a word as her goal for 2016, which is ‘Intentional’ as she explains “I am going to strive to live a more considered life. I want to make advised decisions that benefit my little tribe as a whole. I will consider both them and me and know that this is what is intended of me this year.” I think this is such a fab idea and it really got me thinking what my word for 2016 should be.
A blog post that really made me smile last last month is from Charly over at ‘PODcast’ who shares some inspirational photos enjoying the great outdoors during the winter months. Stunning photo’s that made me want to put my wellies on and head for the beach.
Social anxiety is something I suffered with as a young mum and it most definitely held me back with regards to making friends. Early motherhood was very lonely time for me up until my eldest child started school and I was forced into the often uncomfortable world of the school gate. After about a year I did get chatting to another mum which lead me to meet more local mums and my anxiety lessened. When I read Hannah’s post from ‘Make Do and Push’ about social anxiety I found myself nodding along all the way through. Even though her experience was many years ago for me I remember it like yesterday and I really relate to what she writes.
As we have Valentines Day around the corner I wanted to end this month’s round up with a love story. I’m such a sucker for a soppy bit of romance and I always love to read about couples who are totally and utterly smitten with one another. Emma aka ‘Mrs Shilts’ shares her recipe for a happy marriage and it instantly left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Such a cute couple.
Anyway, that’s it for this month, Michelle will be back with next months Positively Inspirational and I’ll be back for April.
Lots of Love,
Mama Syder x

What a great post Emma and thank you so much for featuring PODcast. Nothing like heading off in monsoon like rain because your daughter wants to go to the beach. Oh my it so paid off though and she had an absolute ball :)

Great round up, It would be good to have a linky here so others can share inspirational stories they have found. I have been amazed how many inspirational stories there are from bloggers who are living with disabilities like me and how much it can help me get through the hard days
