Welcome to March and the latest poetry and prose round-up. How has your year been so far?
This month has seen a lot of new poets in bloggerland and it is great to see so much variation amongst the writers out there.
A number of poems have caught my eye whether they be funny, touching, sad or thoughtful. In fact, I wrote my most thoughtful one to date recently. It was a poem which compared life to ‘Textures’.
So, I have decided to do things a little different this month and list the funnies, the thoughtful and the touching so you can choose a mood and go and read.
Funnies
As Mum’s we will all know the feeling of Sleep Deprivation from Bottle for 2. She also writes a great ditty about the PPI man and asking him to stop calling her!
Are you a woman driver? Then you will enjoy this poem from Teacup Toria.
There is also the wonderful Wicked World of Lucas and her anthologies for her son!
Thoughtful
Vai from Rambling Through Parenthood writes beautifully about The Scarecrow.
Lisa at Lisa’s Life shares her thoughts on her age through the poem ‘Reality.
Maria at Collecting Moments shares a message to her daughter about Words and the impact they have.
De Tout Coeur Limousin shares a wonderful piece of short fiction entitled Moonlight Song.
Touching
I know that Sara from Mum Turned Mom has probably had enough of snow by now but I loved her post on Winter.
All Mum’s need some peace and quiet and Mummy Tries shares her feelings in a poem.
Elizabeth from Waiting to Blossom is back with a bang and has written a beautiful poem ‘Broken Valentine’.
23 Week Socks writes about the joy her son brings.
Virtually Allsorts shows just what we should be grateful for.
Finally, I am going to end this month on empathising with my co-editor, Maddie at Writing Bubble, and the hashtag #WhatIamNOTwriting. She shares this in the form of procrastination – and I know exactly how she feels right now!
I hope you all have a great March and don’t forget that Maddie will be back with you next month.
