Pinterest: Winter crafts for kids

Pinterest 800x400
It seems Winter is now upon us and in full force. Do you think Snow Days are becoming a “thing”? Around this time last year we had the Beast from the East. It brought very cold and wintry conditions to the UK from Siberia, and now we have started to experience another bout of cold weather. With some schools closed or opening later, keeping the kids occupied is of utmost importance for your sanity! Having fun outside in the snow is of course fun, but with extreme cold temperatures and dangerous icy conditions, it’s not always possible for the kids to be outside all the time.

So for this month’s Pinterest roundup I will be touching on kids Winter activities and with it being February, the month of love, I’ll be sharing some new Valentine’s Day pins.

Winter crafts on Pinterest

Starting us off with fun snow games for big and little kids is Natalie over at Confessions of a Crummy Mummy. Natalie shares her simple but effective Winter pin for her post over on Pinterest. Next up is Kate from Crafts on Sea sharing with us her easy snowflake crafts which is a fantastic snow day indoor activity. Her pin is very striking showcasing the activity. This one I will be saving for my preschooler.

Who knew you could paint snow? I didn’t know you could, but Claire from The Ladybirds Adventures shares with us her activity for kids on painting snow two ways! Then Jules from Pondering Parenthood has this amazing tuff spot tray activity with ice. It includes lots and lots of ice with penguins in a sensory play activity. Her pin shows us that the activity is based on a book review, which is a fantastic way to bring both reading and sensory play together.

In just a few days it will be Valentine’s Day and of course half term. So I’m sharing with you some exciting activities that you can do with the kids around Valentines. Amanda from Mummy 2 Twin Individuals Becky from 3 Princesses and 1 Dude has made a brilliant Valentines sensory bin. Becky’s pin is vivid red showing her activity with a clear font.

If you are looking for a simple sweet treat to bake for your loved one, why not try out Jane’s Love Heart Jam Tarts from Hodge Podge Days. By looking at her pin, they are quick to make and look very cute!

I really like Amanda’s idea from Mummy 2 Twindividuals on ideas of how to celebrate Valentine’s with children, and new traditions to create. It’s a bit different to the norm and keeping the celebration between the two of you, but great to get the whole family involved.
