Newbie’s Round-up: Happy New Year!

Newbies badge

Happy New Year! Did you all have a wonderful Christmas? I do hope so! There’s nothing quite like family time, is there? Anyway, I’m fired up with plans for the New Year. No resolutions for me; nope pure goals here. Have you got lots of exciting plans for this year? If so why not share your plans in the comments, we would love to read them.

Anyway, I’m so excited to share with you some wonderful posts from some very talented bloggers. As you know this round-up highlights bloggers who have been ‘in the biz’ for 18 months of less. They’re always brilliant, so without further ado here are my pick of this months submissions.

There’s nothing like some positivity for the New Year and I really enjoyed Take a walk on the bright side from Kizmetcava. Our mindset is such a powerful influencer on how we deal with the situations which life throws at us and this post summed it up perfectly.

Continuing the positivity, I loved Alana from Burnished Chaos’ Words to live by 10 dream big, packed full of motivational quotes to get us going and heading into 2017 with full force.

January has brought with it the return of the school run. Nyomi from Nomipalony shared 10 things I hate about the school run, something which I KNOW so many of you will be nodding along to.

Being a parent is a complex undertaking. Remember the days of spontaneity? Just doing things on a whim, just because you fancy it? Alas, this is no longer the case for most of us and Sinéad from Shinners and the Brood summed it all up brilliantly in Up for a girls’ weekend? So funny; she’s such a talented lady!

Becoming a mum, whether it’s for first time or third time, can take adjustment. I thought Taryn’s (Three Little Ladies and Me) Finding the new normal, was really lovely. Continuing this theme, Kirsty from Life with the Boys also shared her thoughts in Being a Mum is Not As Easy As People Make Out. Thanks for sharing your feelings ladies, it will help other people realise that they’re not alone and that an adjustment period is a natural part of parenthood for all of us.

I adored the dark side of parenting from Patricia over at White Camellias. So beautifully written and so very truthful, another post which will help many people feel less isolated. Let’s face it, some days are tough and we’re all the best parents our children could have. We just need to realise this a bit more often.

Blogging can help people through these times of adjustment. I know my blog has helped me so much in my recovery from PND. Becci from The UnNatural Mother shared what blogging means to her in a Writing Affair, a really wonderful post.

Finishing the month with some humour, Cécile from The Frenchie Mummy posted, My baby has 5 flaws and it’s totally my partner’s fault! So funny! Pop over and have a read, you won’t regret it!

That’s it for January. I hope the rest of the month is kind to you and I will see you in February!

Don’t forget if you have a post for submission, please email the link to [email protected] and title the email BritMums Submission.
