My Best Post of The Week

My Best Post of The Week

MBPWAnother week has gone by and we’re now in October, how quickly has this year shot by?

First mention this week goes to our lovely Jen Howze who’s off to Ethiopia today with the equally lovely Michelle Pannel for the ONE campaign, they’ll be keeping in touch with us over the next week, connection permitting, and we have a ONE campaign Linky going for anyone who’d like to join this important awareness campaign.

Me? I’ve been getting my online life in order this week. After our recent very successful Back to Blogging week where we all shared our URL’s for various social media I sat back and realised I needed a schedule to stick to in order to cover all my bases regularly.

So this week I have gone through my Google Reader which I haven’t looked at for about 18 months, it was full of blogs I didn’t recognise and I dedicated one morning going through keeping my favourites and eliminating those I never look at.

I’m not sure about you but I am hearing across the blogosphere that commenting is down. I am sure this is because we all have so many other social media to attend to but we all love a comment don’t we? That’s what blogging is all about. I hold my hand high as the worst case scenario in this hemisphere, I continue to fail to get back to my commenters and this has been bothering me so I’ve made a pledge with myself to do something about it. I want to get to know readers more, I want more interaction. I can only do that by getting the ball rolling myself.

So I am now dedicating half an hour every morning straight after the school drop and combing through my Google Reader, it’s really quite handy as the posts I think will appeal to my followers on Google+ I can +1 and share them there and then which saves quite a few steps. By sharing I am also doing bloggers a favour by spreading their work further and frequently they’ll get back to me with a thanks or a message and I find it in my gmail inbox – cool and time saving!

I have a relatively quiet weekend this weekend and I want to visit all the links left on #MBPW this week so watch out for my comment and if you have a moment then maybe you’d like to read my best post of the week where I ask you What would you do? I’d love your thoughts on this question that I’ve been tackling for over a year now.

Have a great week
