Laugh Out Loud Round-up

Laugh Out Loud Round-up

This week it’s really all about pictures. I didn’t start with this theme in mind it has just happened – it’s what fellow bloggers found funny this month and I have to agree.

This first post is really a gallery of pictures – a very easy read over your morning coffee – the marshmallow outfit is the best! No I am not joking!

Here Caroline Job at Lunchbox World records some strange things that have happened to cars – and even more bizarre attempts to cover up the damage – read to the end it gets better and better! http://lunchboxworldblog.blogspot.fr/2011/11/oooh-do-you-think-theyll-notice_19.html

Now I’m going to work you a bit harder with this one from Vegiemitevix and her concerns over being invited to a spa. There are some pretty pix, but they are just to make you jealous that you are not on the spa weekend invite list ….it’s really the writing that’s funny http://www.vegemitevix.com/2012/03/the-ugly-girls-spa-dilemma/

Here again it’s more the words than the pictures and this post is aimed squarely at mummy blo…. sorry, sorry Joanne point taken…“parent” bloggers but it’s hard to disagree with Joanne’s message and you have to laugh ( unless perhaps you also work in PR and are the person who sent a blogger a single shoe to review!) http://joannemallon.typepad.com/joanne_the_coach/2012/03/how-to-piss-off-a-parent-blogger.html

I’m always a fan of Liz Dawe’s writing – and she’s as funny as ever here, but this week once more it was hard to keep my eyes away from the photo! http://chickensinpeckham.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/62/

And this post on Mummy Vs Work paints a fantastic picture of a small boy in all in one PJs making a bid for freedom. Photo wise I love the pictures – though they are not actually the humorous part of this blog post – they are super cute!

A lot of funny stories about kids do focus on the younger ones – but don’t think living with teenagers can’t be very bloody funny. What I liked about this one wasn’t just the piece and the picture – it was the caption that really got me!

And here it’s not only vision it’s the sound – actually it’s mainly the sound you really have to listen to Super Amazing Mum’s daughter singing to her as a treat!

And because we are in a sound and vision mood this month, for no particular reason, (except that blogs and posts and themes actually have a life of their own) I have to share this with you. I can’t honestly say that Masterchef Synesthesia – Swede Mason is a mummy blogger, but this is all about baking which means it does have something in common with some of you bloggers and members of Britmums, ( though it was actually chosen by a dad!) it’s a fabulous piece of editing and it will also put you in the mood for a bit of a dance if you are off out tonight and if you can stop laughing. Enjoy!

About

Not a Notting Hill Mum" is a journalist and writer, who has lived in Notting Hill for 15 years and blogs about ordinary life in W11 among the celebrities, supermodels and super-rich. She is slowly getting used to the fact that she is also a mother to Amelie and Alexander (now 8 and 5). So as well as writing about what's going on in the neighbourhood from cool - and affordable- places to visit, to how to find the Blue Door, NNHM also writes about the issues thrown up by modern family life and the funny things her children do and say.
