Hola! As you can see from my excellent grasp of the Spanish language, I may just be on a little trip very soon. Thanks to the amazing support of my Twitter friends (Twiends? Freets?) I am going to Barcelona on Monday. Ole!
In other news, I’ve started another new job, I’ve vowed to cycle every day (haven’t cycled once,) and am currently in therapy over the fact that a fox got in my kitchen this morning. (Note to Mr Fox: If you try getting in my house again sunshine, you are going to end up as Fox Crumble. K?)
Gappy Tales has …. erm … come up trumps again with Cock Shots. Er … why? A question I would expect not all of you have asked yourselves, but a question, in my humble opinion, that needs asking. (Or not.) Anyway, I think the title speaks for itself but it’s a classic. Oh, and it also includes some rather interesting links at the bottom of the post. Not that I’ve looked at them or anything.
Rachel from This Mid 30s Life is in love with Russell Crowe’s thighs. And who can blame her. In Thighs and a Sweaty Yoga Class, Rachel cleverly draws the reader in with the premise of said thighs but in fact she is writing about attending a Bikram yoga class. Suffice to say, you gotta drink a shitload of water in preparation … (‘shitload’ being the standard unit of measurement in Australia.)
In Responsibility, Babberblog explains he’s a bit rubbish at being a grown up. It’s also good to know that I’m not the only one who keeps parking the car and losing it. Being the Mum to a son approaching university age myself, I can relate to Babberblog’s dilemma of whether to send your child to university or not. Luckily for him, he has eighteen years to think about it.
In Words and Pictures, Victoria (who travelled round the world for nine months with her young family,) talks about one such place they visited – Perth in Western Australia. It’s a place I’ve been to myself so I can totally understand the fascination. Victoria uses beautiful imagery to describe WA – a beautiful writer.
A couple of American writers now. Firstly, Momma Be Thy Name has written a really beautiful post, At Least They’re Healthy. She’s a great storyteller and a very honest woman and admits to taking her childrens’ health for granted. This leads her to question what else she’s taken for granted and, by the end of the post, I love her glass is half full attitude.
Secondly, a woman I’ve followed for a year or so now. Not literally. She lives a long way away. Although I’d totally stalk her for her awesome pink hair. Anyway, Cecily writes at Uppercase Woman and I’m sure a lot of you have heard of her already. God, I’m waffling. Look, read Clenched. It rocks.
Minty from Water Birth Please regales us with a horrible story about how some parents use the authority of police as a scare story to keep their children in line. Now I’m far from a perfect parent (belieeeeeeeve me,) but I have to say that I’ve always taught my kids that the police are there to protect. I just don’t get why you’d say otherwise. Grrrr.
Mummy’s Random Blog highlights one of Save the Children’s current petitions, this one supporting the subject of affordable childcare for all. As a working mother myself, with very little external help, life is a struggle right now and I know I’m not alone. And it sucks. I too don’t earn that much more than I pay out for childcare and it annoys the hell out of me because … I want to work! Urgh.
Laura from Yummy Mummy Flabby Tummy changes the mood, thankfully, with Funny Things My Child Says. When your son asks, “How are your testes Daddy?” you know you have a very caring child on your hands!
And finally, HPMcQ gives us a list of her top 5 Monica-isms (ie. 5 reasons she knows she has issues – don’t we all sista!) First up, is her need to have the toilet roll falling forwards. Her list gets progressively weirder, so a proper high five because this is my kinda woman!
So that’s it! I’m going to finish watching US Celebrity Apprentice, eat a slice of Lemon Drizzle cake … (I know, I know!) and then I’m going to get ready for cycling to work tomorrow. Who am I kidding …. I’m driving – we both know it.
Until next time!

About Kate Sutton
Kate Sutton is the owner of the wonderfully eclectic lifestyle blog, WitWitWoo. A mother to two boys, she has a knack for making the most banal things much more interesting than they really are. Normally found talking about cake, sausages and Riverdance on Twitter (@iamwitwitwoo) her considerably sized, Titian hair can be seen from satellite. Kate loves to dance, sing (very) badly and laugh a lot. Her fiercely competitive streak has now earnt her the title of world record breaker. She has added this to her existing list of accolades, which include Apprentice interviewee, Smirnoff model and ex-majorette.
