All charities need to raise money to fund their services and campaigns – it’s a constant challenge requiring stamina and creativity. At the #mums4good Twitter party in May, BritMums asked people to share their best fundraising tips.
The party was sponsored by Give as you Live, which can be a great fundraising tool for the causes you support. How To Engage Adults
1. Letting people know what your personal connection is to a cause often triggers even more support @mama_andmore

9. If you want to get fit set yourself a goal like a 5km and get sponsored for charity. It will motivate you to train and complete
10. Something that can get everyone involved is always good – a sponsored walk /pram push for example @Charlotte_James
11. Face-to-face is best – it is more difficult for sponsors to say no if you’re stood in front of them – @anna8301

13. Hold a skills auction. Offer your skills to the highest bidder. @Tommys_baby

15. I produced a local services (free to households) leaflet and got local biz to donate to be featured. Raised heaps! @Wishgirl123

17. Ditch jumble sales and switch to swishing @simonecas
18. Make an event on FB, it’s easy to invite and set the date and time and place the fundraising is taking place – @Ami4Levi
19. You can donate to charity via your eBay sales too @goriami
20. Make sure you sign up to a charity shop’s gift aid. They can claim an extra 25% on goods sold now, not just cash donations @SAHMLovingIt
