Home educating special

So here it is as promised, a home education special. I will confess I don’t know much about the subject, my children have always attended formal schools and so this has been an education for me as well.

For those amongst us who are novices on the subject Ross Mountneys 10 step guide seems a good place to start!

The reasons people choose to home school are so varied. 3 kids and a glue stick shares her reasons with us and is definitely worth a read. As is An Ordinary Life I know I’ve linked to her “about us” page rather than a post but I think it’s well worth reading to understand more of the reasons people make this life choice.
A puzzle to me has always been what would I use to teach them, what about resources? Well almost all the home ed blogs I looked at for this post share what they use with the wider community so if it’s something you’re considering then take a wander round them and pick up tips, and make new connections… after all that’s why Britmums is there isn’t it?
