Welcome to this month’s Home and Design Round-up where I’m hoping to show you what’s been happening in the world of home and interiors blogs, picking out some of my favourite posts and top ideas for your decorating inspiration.
You may remember last month that I wrote about the Interiors blogs shortlisted in the Finals of the Cosmopolitan blog awards? Well I’m thrilled to report that I actually won, which was both exhilarating and surprising, given the quality of those in the final. Anyway, it was a marvellous opportunity to meet the other interiors bloggers and to find out that a few of us were taking part in a Design Challenge for DFS. If you’ve wondered how brands go about styling a set for a lifestyle shot then wonder no more. Antonia from Tidy Away Today (Highly Commended at the Cosmo awards!), Jenni from The Treasure Hunter and me at Love Chic Living were all challenged with creating our own set. We even got to go to the studios and design the look with a professional stylist and photographer. If you’re looking for ideas on how to give your room a professional look and feel, check out the tips we picked up, and the moodboards and sets we created.
There are a lot of Moodboards kicking around blog land at the moment partly in thanks to a competition that Annie from Mammasaurus and I ran with Debenhams. Bloggers were challenged to create a moodboard depicting their dream bedroom to be in with a chance of winning a cracking voucher to spend at the store. Now I can’t give too much away as the winners haven’t yet been announced, but if you’re looking for inspiration for a bedroom makeover there are some amazing designs entered, so do take a browse.
With Halloween around the corner there are lots of ideas for decorating your home and more precisely, your Pumpkins this year and so I’ve chosen my favourite to show you. Do hop over to Me and My Shadow and take a look at her 15 No Carve Decorated Pumpkin Ideas, they are inspired, and will make your home look super stylish this Halloween.
If you’re wanting to purchase a new sofa then you have to check out the post on Ginger Bisquite this month which has some great top tips, some colourful ideas, and personal experience of what to look for when choosing a new sofa. It can be a costly mistake if you get it wrong so well worth reading Jenni’s tips.
Finally I want to leave you with a burst of colour. If you’ve not come across Bright Bazaar before then you really do need to check it out. Will is a top Interiors Blogger and his blog if full of vivid, bright colour, styled in a modern, inspirational way. He’s recently been on the Modenus Blog Tour LA where interiors bloggers are taken all over the world discovering and reporting on amazing interior design. You can see what Will found on his recent tour, but do have a good read of his blog, it’s well worth it.
So that’s it for another month. I hope I’ve given you some inspiration for you own home and I’d love to hear from you if you are undergoing a home improvement project.

Thank you for the mention, Jen, as well as in your blog post. Wasn't it a great experience? Picked up lots of tips to help me in the future, hopefully. Loved yours and Annie's comp, too - I think I'm getting addicted to creating mood boards! X
