Hayley sat on our panel of speakers recently in the How to be an agent of change session at BritMums Live and now the national press have got wind of her amazing work.
Hayley blogs at Downs Side Up she is mum to Mia and Natty, who is now starring in the Sainsbury Back to School ads. When Natty was born the Downs Side Up family were thrown onto a crash course in Down’s syndrome. Hayley’s mission is to inspire new parents, show the world that many incredible things are possible and shout out that Down’s syndrome is wonderful, that life will carry on only just a little bit better.
Having recently published a book on a sibling’s introduction to Down’s syndrome and with Natty starring in the latest advertisement campaign for a national brand, the media have pricked their ears up.
This week alone Loose Women, Sky Press Preview, the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph have all dedicated articles as has Katie Price’s column in Now magazine to Hayley and her Downs Side Up mission.

Downs Side Up, a BritMums Brilliance in Blogging finalist in the Inspire category in 2012 and 2013 and finalist in the Commentary and the Outstanding categories in 2014. It was noted as a MADs Blog of Outstanding Contribution in 2013 and 2014. Circle of Moms and Tots100 rate Downs Side Up as being in the top 20 Special Needs blogs.

Well done Hayley. You spread awareness with such love, joy and grace. No better woman (as the Irish would say) to bring light to this topic. So glad I had a few brief minutes with you at BritMums Live. Had no idea you were about to embark on all this though. You continually raise the bar on what you are capable of. Thank you darling Liska, it was truly lovely to meet you again this year at BML. I too had no idea this was in the pipeline and it all hit the papers on the Monday when I got home. Feeling tired but proud now.
