At BritMums one of the most Butlins-aware influencers we know is Laura at Tired Mummy of Two. “Some people call me the Queen of Butlins,” she says, “some people just call me bonkers but I love Butlins.” Here she imparts some her advice for families visiting and where to stay at Butlins Bognor Regis for children of different ages.
Visiting Butlins as a family we have found somewhere that meets all our needs when it comes to holidays so we go a few times a year. All the Butlins resorts are pretty much the same when it comes to entertainment and facilities, but when it comes to accommodation all the resorts have different levels of accommodation available.
Review: Butlins Bognor Regis accommodation
My favourite resort is Bognor Regis as it has so many choices available for where to lay your head. I thought I might help you narrow it down a little bit by focusing on the different types of accommodation available.
First up is my favourite accommodation: the hotels. Bognor Regis has three hotels.
Best hotel in Butlins Bognor Regis for under 5s
The Shoreline Hotel is perfect for under 5s with lots of characters popping in and out, a character breakfast available most mornings and Billy Bears special bedroom where you can have photos and stories, as well as put Billy Bear to bed.
Best hotel at Butlins Bognor Regis for teens
The Ocean Hotel is a high-end hotel with its own butlers, disco lifts, the spa and rain showers as well as lots of other really cool features. I would recommend the Ocean hotel for families with teenagers. You can also choose a room with a balcony featuring sea views.
Best hotel at Butlins Bognor Regis for tweens
Last but certainly not least is the Wave hotel. Aimed towards tweens, this hotel is high tech, with a Kindle library, games room and TVs on each of the bunk beds (controllable by mum and dad, of course). The kids will love the bright colours and open spaces. There’s also a Soho Coffee Co. cafe with a large lounge area.

Butlins Bognor Regis self-catering accommodation and more
If you decide you don’t want to stay in a hotel, then there is a range of other accommodations at Bognor Regis, rrom self-catering apartments to rooms, all at different cost levels. We have stayed in most types of accommodation. The silver rooms consist of bedrooms with TVs and a bath or shower room. Silver Plus goes that little bit further and gives you a little bit more space with two seats and a small fridge. We stayed in the rooms when we first started going to Butlins, as it was the cheapest option. But once I had stayed in the Shoreline Hotel there was no going back.

If I was not staying in a hotel, or if I took extra family members with me, then the Gold apartments are perfect, with large rooms, a separate living room (with leather sofas) and a really well equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) it is like a home from home. They even use 100% Egyptian cotton sheets. We have yet to stay in the Deluxe apartments but those come with a dedicated parking space right outside and a patio area.

I think that I will go to stay at the BlueSkies apartments in Minehead. These look fantastic and they even have a washer/dryer and a lovely balcony that overlooks the resort. I’ll let you know what I think!
