Gardening Round-up: Autumn is on its way

The evenings are getting darker and I am having to put the light on when my alarm goes off in the morning, which can only mean one thing, the colder weather is on it’s way, hopefully with some warm weather to keep us going!

Last weekend we took out the remains of the beans and peas we had been growing, the tomatoes and chillies are still growing nicely in the greenhouse and my strawberry patch has exploded, I think by next season I could have enough for my own PYO (Pick Your Own). There are still a few flashes of colour in the garden, and some of the red leaves look amazing.

We have been trying out a new Poly Tunnel and we love it! I wouldn’t be without my greenhouse, but many parents worry about them with small children, so check out my post on Child Friendly greenhouses.

If you are looking for tips on how to make your garden bird friendly Growing Family can help, and if you are considering letting the little people help in the garden check out Captain Bob Cats post on introducing children to gardening, if they’re not too keen maybe they would prefer the Crooked Mansion Wooden Playhouse.
