Happy Valentines day!
Love is certainly in the air and I know that a lot of you will be thinking about how to cook the perfect romantic meal for two. Taking time out, as a couple to enjoy a meal together is one of my favourite Valentines day treats and creating a home cooked meal with love is even more special than many shop bought gifts. With the help from some of the best UK-based food bloggers I am going to show you 8 delicious dishes that will leave your loved one wanting more!
The 8 recipes are a combination of savoury and sweet dishes and will help you to really show your love with food. Here are my top 8 recipes that are perfect for your Valentine.

The ideal starter has to be these Scottish Gin and Tonic Mussels from Foodie Quine. Valentines day is an opportunity to create something extra special and these mussels will definitely impress your loved one.
Onto the main course. They say that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach and if that is true then the best meal to win his heart has to be a great steak dinner! Life at the Zoo tells us how to make an easy steak dinner complete with deliciously spicy potato wedges.
If you want to go one step further with the romance, forget making wedges or chips. Crispy Potato Roses will certainly bring the romance to your plates. Family Friends Food has a fantastic step by step guide showing how to make these truly beautiful potato roses.
No meal is complete with out a sweet treat and the following four recipes will leave you spoilt for choice! The hardest decision you will have is which to make!
If your loved one loves chocolate and you want to make a special chocolate treat then Charlotte’s Lively Kitchen has the recipe that you need! These Strawberry and Champagne Truffle Tarts sound as amazing as they look. I can only imagine how perfect they taste!
If you are looking for a lighter desert that will be simply irresistible then The Gluten Free Alchemist tells us how to make the perfect Pretty Pink Pavlova with Berries and Nectarine. This Pavlova will make an amazing dessert to share!
Who doesn’t love a cupcake? These pretty little Cherry and Almond Cupcakes from Only Crumbs Remain will delight your Valentine. Keep them for after the meal or make them in advance and sneak them into your Valentines lunch box as a surprise!
I am sure that these 8 recipes will give you plenty of inspiration for a romantic meal.
My next baking round-up will be bakes that use both Bramley apples, in celebration of Bramley apple week and Fairtrade products for Fairtrade fortnight.
I hope you have a lovely Valentines day and remember to show the love all year round!
