What would we do if we had unlimited money? Buy a mansion or five? Travel everywhere by private jet? Wear a new outfit everyday? Let’s face it that would probably mean being the winner of the EuroMillions when the prize runs into hundreds of millions of pounds. For me it would also mean buying a ticket in the first place! Instead for most of us each month is about making the most of the money we have. If you find each month a struggle or simply want more money to put aside each month take some tips from this month’s selection.
Cass at Diary of a Frugal Family has listed her 10 random frugal habits that will improve your life! (or at least your bank balance). She states it takes around two months of doing something for it to become a regular habit. So make sure from now on to start meal planning each week and buying in bulk items that on are on offer which you use regularly – I do this for laundry liquid.
We all have to spend money but as Victoria from Butterfly Crafts has found out you can make money whilst doing it. She gives us 9 tips for saving money without really trying. Victoria has found out the benefits of buying very cheap insurance in order to get free cinema tickets and using a hotel booking site to get the best deal and a free night.
Now that Emma is self-employed she has been thinking about her financial future. On her blog Emma’s Savvy Savings she lists some of plans to become financially free. She has been looking at better budgeting on a daily basis and also about ways to make her money work through investments.
At the weekend I read about someone whose annual household fuel bill is £9,000! Without a mains gas supply for their old house they were reliant on expensive electric and the fluctuating price of oil to heat their property.
