Family Days Out Round-up: Easter fun

Hello and welcome to this months Family Fun round-up, I have been inundated with posts this month and it seems you have all made the most of some nice weather over the Easter break.

I have to admit that mine was a little mixed as we had some (ongoing) car trouble on the way to a planned break in Cornwall and ended up heading home onboard a huge tow truck, but we made the best of it and got out and about the best we could.

It seems we were not the only ones who were heading to Cornwall for some Easter fun. Stressy Mummy payed a visit to Tintagel Castle, Would Like to Be headed to Coombe Mill and got to see their gorgeous chicks and baby bunnies, Project Wanderlust enjoyed a visit to Carnewas at Bedruthan and Tin Box Traveller headed to Looe.

In Dorset we headed to Lulworth Castle for a spot of Easter Egg Hunting and Rock n’ Roll Mum was just around the corner for a stroll between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. We also got our hearts pumping with a visit to Go Ape at Moors Valley and found our inner scientists as we picked apart Owl Pellets at Avon Heath Country Park.

At the opposite end of the UK, Family Travel Times visited the Falkirk Wheel and Helix Park in Scotland which looked fascinating, Project Wanderlust spent 12 hours in Edinburgh and Potty Adventures took their little one along to their first music festival at Kendal Calling. Growing Family found their epic and had an amazing break in North Wales, exploring Conwy Castle and eating chips on Barmouth Beach and also in Wales Fashion Mommy visited the spectacular King Arthur’s Labyrinth whilst Hi Baby Blog squeezed in a 36 hour trip to Dublin.

Blackpool was also a popular destination with The Brick Castle visiting Blackpool Tower and the Dungeons which looked like a lot of fun and JuggleMum braving the Sandcastle Water Park

London is another popular destination and Catch a Single Thought headed to Greenwich where she visited the Royal Museums of Greenwich which consist of The National Maritime Museum, The Queen’s House, Cutty Sark and The Royal Observatory. The Coombe Mill gang also headed away from Cornwall to enjoy a day out in London where they got to ride the London Eye, Emmy’s Mummy got the kids to earn their keep over at Kidzania and Tots 2 Travel explored Burgess Park.

Farm visits were also a popular choice with lots of baby animals so see. We headed to Farmer Palmers in Dorset where we got to bottle feed the lambs and hand feed the red deer, Super Busy Mum headed to Streamvale Farm where they got to ride ponies and cuddle the cutest bunny rabbits, Pinks Charming fed the lambs at Green Dragon Eco Farm, Quite Frankly She Said checked out the new Peter Rabbit playground at Willows Activity Farm, Life at Cooks Cabin enjoyed a visit to Longdown Farm in the New Forest, Tots 2 Travel explored the VSA Easter Anguston Farm in Aberdeenshire and Parenthood Highs got to ride a bumpy tractor at the National Forest Adventure Farm.

The Easter fun continued with tea with the Easter Bunny for Growing Family and Easter Trails for BubbaBlue and Me at Stowe Gardens, Little Hearts Big Love at Black Park and Yet Another Blogging Mummy had soggy Easter Egg hunt at their local National Trust park.

Zoo and Wildlife Parks were also order of the day for Renovation Bay-Bee with a visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park, London Zoo was also a popular choice as they launched their new Land of the Lions exhibit which we got to experience along with the Mummy Matters crew and The Creative Pair went wild at All Things Wild Nature Centre.

Chessington World of Adventures launched their new show Pandamonium, which I cannot wait to see after reading blogs from Emmy’s Mummy, Kip Hakes and the House that Never Rests and Project Wanderlust got to stay in the Azteca Hotel too.

Keen to get back to nature Podcast Dove headed to Alice Holt Forest for a spot of treasure hunting, GlobalMouse got down with the wild fowl, visiting Slimbridge Wetland Centre, My Two Mums got a breath of fresh air at Moors Valley, Hills and Daffdils explored Dyffryn Gardens and BubbaBlue and Me headed to a class reunion at Waddesdon Manor.

We love the beach all times of the year and it seems we are not alone. Podcast Dove headed to my hold home town of Littlehampton for some beach fun whilst The Mini Me’s and Me had some paddling fun at Saunton Sands and Mummy Shire was doing cartwheels in the sand in Jersey.

Crazy Golf is something my family get really competitive over but it is so much fun and Project Wanderlust found this with her crew at Safari Adventure Golf in Hersham.
