Expat Round-up: Easter & other holidays

A short-ish Expat round up from me this month as we scramble to get ready for the Easter hols.    

Most Expats surrender to the mass exodus during any lengthy holiday period, packing up and shipping out for a week or two.  And although for those of us left behind it can seem a little quiet, it can also be the perfect time to explore temporary homelands whilst all is relatively empty!   

We will not be joining those staying behind this time, as after a busy few weeks in our house with birthdays and visitors, I am really looking forward to introducing my youngest to his homeland for the very first time, meeting my brand new nephew, being able to freely converse, and indulge in fish and chips and proper HOT CROSS BUNS!

So without further ado, here are the Expat posts that have caught my eye this past month: – Apple Island Wife explores Festivale – a Tasmanian Food and Drinks Festival, Kirsten in Clogland (love the name!) discovers one of Holland’s Beautiful Beaches, and The Expat Chronicles enjoyed a Quick Trip to Boston…

The Seychelles Mama ponders something that gets to all Expats at one point or another – Family Guilt – I hear you Chantelle, it’s the worst part.   No Longer Native asks whether Expat Life is a short cut to happiness, and PiripiriLexicon discusses the good and bad sides of life in Germany (which I could definitely add to on both sides!).  

I have enjoyed reading Clara Wiggins Expat Survival Guide Blog – there are some great tips on there for those of us who can find Expat Life a little too tough at times.   

Turning to the creative side now for a second – My Little Expat Kitchen always produces such beautiful looking food, and as Easter is an important Greek festival, there are bound to be some upcoming seasonal recipes, and then Overseas Escape has a Lightroom Tutorial, completely handy for all those photographs you will be taking of any Easter travels.
